Missing the taste of home? Missing that traditional Onam feeling? 🌿

There is something truly special about sitting together, with a fresh banana leaf in front of you, waiting as each dish is served one by one rice, curries, avial, thoran, pachadi, pickle, pappadam and finally that comforting spoonful of payasam. 🍛💛

That is Onam Sadhya.

It is not just a meal. It is a memory.
A reminder of home.
Of family gatherings.
Of festive mornings.
Of eating with your hands, sharing stories and celebrating the traditional Kerala way.

If you have been missing the flavours of Kerala, the warmth of home, or simply want to experience an authentic traditional Onam feast, the Darwin Malayalee Association Inc. - DMA invites you to come and celebrate with us.

🌼 ONAM SADHYA
🕛 Lunch: 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Come hungry. Come with family. Come ready to sit together and enjoy Onam the way it is meant to be celebrated on a banana leaf, with tradition, flavour and community all around you.

For a few hours, let Darwin feel a little more like home. ❤️

What a proud and memorable morning as our community came together at Parliament House, Darwin, to celebrate India’s 80th Independence Day with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag. 🇮🇳

Today was more than a ceremony, it was a celebration of our freedom, heritage, unity, and the strong bond between India and Australia. Seeing members of our community, friends, families and supporters gather together made the occasion truly special.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us this morning and helped make the celebration meaningful. Your presence, support and community spirit are what make occasions like this so memorable.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Parliament House and everyone who supported in making this flag-hoisting ceremony possible.

As proud Indians living in the Northern Territory, we honour the sacrifices of those who fought for India’s freedom while celebrating the opportunities, diversity and friendship we share here in Australia.

May we continue to carry our culture with pride, strengthen our community, and build even stronger connections between our two great nations. 🇮🇳🤝🇦🇺

Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
