Dear Brothers and Sisters,

In order to be able to cater for the needs of a number of people within our diocese, I have given permission for the Latin Tridentine Mass to be celebrated once a month in our diocese.

The Society of Saint Peter, who are in full communion with the Pope, will be sending a priest on the last Sunday of each month to celebrate the Latin Mass at 7:30 am at St Martin De Porres Chapel, Casuarina.

The Society of St Pius X are not in communion with the Pope, and they have not got my permission to celebrate Mass in our diocese. However, the Society of Saint Peter have got my permission and will celebrate Mass in our diocese on a regular basis.

So, the first Mass will be celebrated at 7.30 am on 30th August, the last Sunday of the month, at St. Martin de Porres Chapel, Casuarina.

Please pass on this information to whoever might be interested and who would like to avail themselves of this opportunity.

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

On Thursday evening, we celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Palmerston NT, with young people from MacKillop Catholic College.

On Friday morning, we continued this joyful celebration of faith with more young people from the school community receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion.

We congratulate all these young people as they take these important steps in their journey of faith. We also give thanks for their families, teachers and the MacKillop Catholic College community who have accompanied and supported them.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and strengthen each of them.

Primary School Principals Day

Today, on Primary School Principals Day, we give thanks for all our primary school principals and for the love, care and dedication they show to our young people.

You play such an important role during a very formative stage of a child's life. Through your leadership, encouragement and care, you help create communities where our young people can learn, grow and flourish.

Thank you for all that you do. I pray that God will continue to guide you with wisdom, patience and strength as you walk alongside our wonderful young people, their families and school communities.

𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐧

Last Sunday, we were delighted to welcome members of Singles for Christ from across Australia to Darwin for a weekend of prayer, reflection, fellowship and renewal.

It was wonderful to see this vibrant group of young adults coming together to deepen their faith, encourage one another and share in Christian community.

We thank God for their joyful presence among us and pray that their time together continues to bear fruit in their lives and wherever they are called to serve.
