Reflections: 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Thessalonians 5:11 is a simple but meaningful reminder of the impact encouragement can have.

When I reflect on this passage, what stands out is how much our words and actions can shape the people around us. Encouragement does not always need to be something big. Sometimes it is simply choosing to notice someone and respond with care.

To build each other up is to take seriously the way we support one another. It reminds us that community is strengthened through the small moments where people feel seen, valued, and not alone.

Reflections: Galatians 6:2

Galatians 6:2 is a beautiful reminder that we are not meant to leave one another alone in what feels heavy.

When I reflect on this passage, what stands out is the importance of care that is genuine and grounded. To carry each other’s burdens does not mean taking everything on ourselves, or losing sight of what we may also be carrying. Sometimes it begins with noticing, listening, and being willing to walk alongside someone with compassion.

This scripture also points us toward the example of Christ, who showed love through the way he carried and cared for others. It reminds us that supporting one another is not a small thing, but something deeply connected to faith, love, and community.
