An interesting article...

"Weekly church attendance is one of the very best things you can do for both your body and your mind. That’s what researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health have found. They have discovered that going to church can add multiple years to your life."..
"But going to church and missing out on Jesus is like going to the ER and just sitting in the waiting room. He is the only doctor who can save us in the end, and all of us need saving. “I am the resurrection and the life,” Jesus declared. “Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” "

Have a read through this interesting article. Feel free to share your thoughts, either here, or this Sunday at church... 😉

Weekly church attendance is one of the very best things you can do for both your body and your mind, according to researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health.

In a few weeks time the combined churches in Port Pirie will be hosting a Light Party, on Friday 31st October, from 6-8pm at the Baptist Church. There will be lots of activities for children to do, as well as a free sausage sizzle. We hope you can come.

Jesus said that he is the light of the world, and he also said that we are the light of the world because we can tell other people about Jesus. Knowing Jesus is the best thing ever. He is life changing, and is really worth celebrating.

This weekend we are starting a new series at church - the book of Romans! What a wonderful and rich book, full of teaching about who Jesus is and why he came. If you haven't read it before, or not for a while, why not get a head start and read it in the next few days.
Here is a link to the passage online...

Here is a video that explains in clear detail what the book of Romans is about.

This term rocks!
The topic for this term of Kids Club is ROCKS. There are lots of fun games and crafts that we can do with rocks. Yesterday afternoon we learned that the Bible teaches us that God is our rock, our fortress and our strength.
Throughout this term we'll be cooking rocky road and rock biscuits. We'll also be having fun decorating rock people, as well as digging for precious gems.
All primary aged children are welcome to come along. We meet in the church hall from 3:30 - 5pm each Monday afternoon.

We've had a great time this term at Kids Club, doing so many Lego themed activities. We learned about God our Master Builder, and how Minifigures (i.e. people) are his favourite part of creation. We learned that God will never Lego (Let Go) of us, because he looks after his children and holds us safe. We also learned that building our life on Jesus and his teaching is the best thing we can do (the green block is securely superglued onto the rock!)

There are a couple of photos attached of the things we have been doing. We have two more weeks left of this term, then will switch to a different topic after the school holidays. This has been a fun term.
