As the Season of Creation draws to a close tomorrow, I'm sharing this prayer from Common Grace's Season of Creation devotionals.
I found this one particularly moving.

Next Tuesday, October 6 at 10am, faith communities will gather at significant locations across the country to call for a fossil fuel treaty and a planned global phase-out of coal, oil and gas.

The Melbourne gathering will be held St Michael's Uniting Church, Melbourne

Australia has a unique responsibility as one of the world's largest exporters of fossil fuels and a close neighbour to Pacific nations on the frontline of climate change. Inspired by shared values of compassion, justice, care for creation and love for our neighbours, this national multi-faith movement is responding to the call from Pacific leaders for stronger climate action.

As Pacific leaders gather in Fiji for the Pre-COP Summit, this event is an opportunity to show that Australia's faith communities stand alongside them in advocating for a safer and more sustainable future.

This Sunday, we invite Uniting Church congregations and members across Australia to join with the Pacific Conference of Churches, Fiji Council of Churches and faith communities across the Pacific in prayer ahead of Pre-COP31 in Fiji.

As people of faith gather to mark the close of the Season of Creation and the opening of Pre-COP31, we stand alongside our Pacific neighbours in their call for climate justice, hope and action.

We encourage Uniting Church congregations to include prayers for Fiji, the Pacific and climate justice in worship this Sunday.

Let us pray for communities already living with the impacts of the climate crisis, and for wisdom and courage for those gathering for Pre-COP31.

May Pacific voices be heard. May our common home be protected. And may our prayers strengthen our commitment to walk together for a just and flourishing future.

Together in faith, we pray and act for climate justice.

On Sunday we farewelled the Kim family, Stephen, Yu Jeong and the children, with a laying on of hands during the service, and a morning tea following the service.
We congratulated Stephen for his placement as a Minister of the Word at North Ringwood Uniting Church.
We wish the family God's blessing for the years ahead.

The video recording of the Sunday 20th September Worship Service is now available on our YouTube channel.
Worship was led by Hayley Rose.

Hayley's message wove in two themes from the readings from Exodus 16, - the Exodus story of God's providing for the Israelites wandering in the wilderness, and Matthew 20's relating of Christ's parable of the generous landowner who paid all his day labourers, regardless of how long they worked - "the last shall be first, and first shall be last"

The video recording of the Sun 6th September service at Croydon Uniting Church has just been posted on our YouTube channel.
The service was led by Rev Stephen Kim.

Stephen's message drew on the readings from Ezekiel and John's Gospel. He entitled it "The Source of Living Water". He drew a comparison between Ezekiel's vision from exile in Babylonia of the restoration of the temple and Jesus' statement in the temple centuries later about the living water flowing from the believer's heart.
