James: Practical lessons for an authentic walk in Christ
Speaker: Trevor Russell

“The book of James is a fascinating book. Written to the believer in Christ, it is full of practical and hard-hitting instruction which was directed to the early Jewish Christians who had been dispersed throughout the Roman empire. James places a consistent focus on practical action, on an outward working of faith, and he encourages God’s people to act like God’s people. The central theme of the book might be summarised: If your faith is genuine, then your walk must be authentic.
It is not difficult to draw parallels between the situation the early Christians found themselves in and the world that we live in today. James’s message is not only relevant, it is dynamic and powerful. His writing is a little like the Old Testament book of Proverbs, it is filled with pithy statements and direct commands to pursue a life of holiness. Using language and a style not dissimilar to Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount, James rails against the hypocritical believer who says one thing but does another.
In this series of talks we will consider the man and the insights that he penned. We will draw out lessons, instruction and encouragement which I pray will help us to live faithful lives on our walk in Christ.”

We still have spaces for this year's camp. If you are wanting to come but haven't booked in yet, please head to tanyallacamp.org and submit your application.

Take a week away from the craziness of everyday life and connect with like minded people in a gorgeous setting.

Activities are planned for children over 4 so you can listen and enjoy your study sessions led by Trev, and join in with the discussion groups afterwards without constant disruptions.

Plenty to see and do during your free afternoon and some fantastic evening activities to keep everyone entertained.
