A very big thank you to the Victoria street Craft group for their kind donation for the children's area. It has allowed us to purchase a mushroom table and stools. Thank you to Peter for installing them.

Remembering all those amazing women who have gone before us. Our pioneer women who struggled and survived, the women who achieved great things and those who were the backbone in their family.
One in particular Mrs. Jane Ingram. Leaving the safety of home to travel thousands of miles by the Ship "Eliza Caroline" in 1850.

On this day 15th December 1882, the 22 miners who perished and the 5 survivors were brought to the surface of the Australasian No. 2 mine. 2 hours later the largest funeral in Creswick's history at that time was held.
Below is a photograph of the survivors.

On this day at 5.30 a.m. Mason and Reeves broke through to the old workings of the Australasia No. 1 mine and the worst Gold mining disaster in Victoria began. December 12 1882, 27 men were trapped underground for almost three days. 5 men survived and sadly 22 men perished.
Of the 22 men lost, 19 are buried at the Creswick Cemetery, 2 in Old Ballarat and 1 in Ballarat New Cemetery.
Today we remember them.
