ශ්‍රද්ධා බුද්ධි සම්පන්න පින්වතුනි,

වෙසක් පුණ්‍යෝත්සවය උදෙසා අපගේ පූජනීය විහාරස්ථානය සූදානම් කිරීමේ අරමුණින්, ඇඩිලේඩ් ශ්‍රී ලංකා බෞද්ධ විහාර පරිශ්‍රය පිරිසිදු කිරීම හා සංරක්ෂණය කිරීම සඳහා විශේෂ ශ්‍රමදානයක් සංවිධානය කර ඇත.

හදිසියේ අප අතරින් සමුගත් දමිත් වටදෙණිය මහතාගේ දේහය සිය ඥාතින් වෙත බාර දීම සදහා මෙම අතිශය දුෂ්කර සහ වේදනාකාරී අවස්ථාවේ සහයෝගය ලබාදුන් සියලුම දෙනාට අපගේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තුතිය පුද කර සිටිමු.

ඇඩිලේඩ් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ප්‍රජාවගේ කාරුණික පරිත්‍යාගයන් සහ එකමුතුව හේතුවෙන්, ඒ මහතාගේ දේහය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට යැවීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය සියලුම කටයුතු සම්පූර්ණ කර ගැනීමට අපට හැකි විය. ඒ සදහා එක්රැස් වූ මුදලින් අවමංගල්‍ය හා ප්‍රවාහන වියදම සඳහා $12,000ක මුදලක් ද , ඉතිරි $6237.98ක මුදල එම මහතාගේ බිරිදගේ බැංකු ගිණුමටද අප තැන්පත් කරන ලදී .

දමිත් මහතාගේ දියණිය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ආරක්ෂිතව රැගෙන ගොස්, ඇය භාරකරු වෙත භාරදෙන තුරු කැපවීමෙන් සහ ආදරයෙන් රැකබලා ගත් සියලුම දෙනා වෙත විශේෂ ස්තුතියක් පුද කර සිටින අතරම ඔබගේ කාරුණික කැපවීම කිසිදා අමතක නොවනු ඇත.

එමෙන්ම, මෙම දුෂ්කර අවස්ථාවේ එම පවුලට ආර්ථික සහ මානසික සහයෝගය ලබාදුන් ඇඩිලේඩ් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ප්‍රජාවේ සියලුම දෙනාටද අපගේ ගෞරවනීය ස්තුතිය නැවතත් පුද කර සිටිමු.

Heartfelt Thanks

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who extended their support during this extremely difficult and painful time, to hand over the body of the late Mr. Damith Watadeniya to his relatives.

Thanks to the generous donations and unity of the Adelaide Sri Lankan community, we were able to successfully complete all the necessary arrangements to send his body to Sri Lanka. From the funds collected, an amount of $12,000 was used to cover funeral and transportation expenses, and the remaining balance of $6,237.98 was deposited into his wife’s bank account.

We would also like to extend our special thanks to everyone who lovingly and responsibly cared for Mr. Damith’s daughter and safely accompanied her to Sri Lanka until she was handed over to her guardian. Your kindness, compassion, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Furthermore, we once again offer our sincere appreciation to all members of the Adelaide Sri Lankan community who provided financial and emotional support to the family during this difficult time.

It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Damith Watadeniya, who had come from Sri Lanka to South Australia with his 15 year old daughter for her education. He sadly passed away today in Adelaide due to a sudden heart attack.

During this extremely difficult and painful time, arrangements are currently being made for his funeral. The support and kind assistance of the community are greatly needed to help his family during this time.

Dhamma Program with Ven. Rajawelle Subhuthi Thero – Adelaide (2–3 May 2026)
Venerable Rajawelle Subhuthi Thero will be visiting Adelaide this weekend, on the 2nd and 3rd of May 2026, and will be residing at the Adelaide Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara in Crafers.
Ven. Subhuthi Thero is the Director of the Hospital Services Council in Sri Lanka and has been rendering an invaluable service to many needy patients attending hospitals across the country.
This visit is organised by the Ananda College Adelaide Wing in support of the Rural Pulse Project conducted in collaboration with the Hospital Services Council Sri Lanka (please see attached flyer).
Program Details:
• 6.00 pm – Special Ashtapana Buddha Pūjā
• 7.30 pm onwards – Information session on the services rendered by the Hospital Services Council Sri Lanka and an update on the Rural Pulse Project
