If you couldn't attend a service of blessing of the animals, not to worry, know there are many pray-ers in our parish and when we pray for you, we also pray for your fur, feather and other fauna companions.

We gather virtually to pray "Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air, and animals on the land. You inspired Saint Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless pets everywhere. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.”

Happy International Day of Older Persons! Our parish celebrates growing older. It’s like graduating from the free trial of youth, but this premium edition is just wiser, more experienced, and dare we say, a little more mischievous.

Today marks the International Day of Older Persons, first observed by the United Nations on 1 October 1991. It’s a great reason to celebrate what we've done with the years behind us.

If you're still scrolling the year you were born when opening an Instagram account, it's just a few more scrolls than those born in 2010. It doesn’t necessarily tell us what we can do, what we can learn, what might still surprise us, or what adventure we might take on next. Obstacles have an annoying habit of appearing at every age — fortunately, so does curiosity, determination, humour and the occasional refusal to be sensible.

Dick's our Facebook model for today, he took up flying a couple of years back and this is him celebrating his 90th birthday. Thanks to him and Inez, for always showing up, caring and defying age with a can-do and will-do attitude. You, along with so many of our parishioners have done age-defying acts of wonder, of which many have been here from two to over 50 years.

Got wrinkles, see it as proof of purchase you're part of the VIP edition. 🥳🥳💐💐Thank you to all elders for your wisdom and wonder. Oh, and youngens reading this, call your mum and dad, granny and grandpa.

Step into a world of romance, elegance and history at Epiphany Belles – Bridal Beauty Through the Decades, a spectacular fundraising event presented by the Stirling Anglican Parish.
Be captivated by a remarkable collection of wedding gowns spanning the 1920s to the early 2000s, including a stunning gown worn at a wedding at the Church of the Epiphany in the 1950s. Admire exquisite fabrics and craftsmanship—from silk crepe, duchess silk and Chantilly lace to silk organza, silk pongee and a finely beaded wool gown. Tony “Pilko” Pilkington will be your compère for the afternoon, with organist Riley Love performing a medley of wedding marches on the organ. Models from Sure Dance School, together with parishioners’ family members, will bring the gowns to life, while the South Australian Cantonese Opera will present selected creations from China.
Come along for a lovely afternoon of beautiful bridal gowns, fascinating stories and great company. Afterwards, head over to the Anne Jolly Hall for high tea, a glass of w**e and even more antique wedding gowns to enjoy.

Just in time for Season of Creation (1 September to 4 October - Feast of St Francis of Assisi), a new book hits the shelves, and Jo Knight's book, Called to Care, was shortlisted for the 2026 Australian Christian Book of the Year.

With the flash floods we've seen in Crafers, the Adelaide Hills and Adelaide over the last month, it's fitting Season of Creation's 2026 theme is "Immersion in Living Water" inspired by Ezekiel 47.

We are incredibly proud of our CEO Jo Knight, whose debut book Called to Care was shortlisted for the 2026 Australian Christian Book of the Year.

Last night, Jo joined her fellow shortlisted authors at the SparkLit awards. Congratulations to this year’s winners, Matt Dodd and Thom Bransdon, authors of The Epistles for Kids, and to every writer recognised.

We pray that Called to Care will continue to encourage Christians to care for God’s creation and respond faithfully to the needs of people experiencing poverty and injustice.

When you sing "All Things Bright and Beautiful', does it bring to heart the wonderful images of creation? That God has made us all.

We hope you are encouraged by Hon Dr Rev'd Lynn Arnold supporting Protect our Parklands. Congratulations too to him on his latest appointment as Vice Chancellor of University of Divinity. His three-year term starts 1 January 2027.

This is a good reminder for us of Season of Creation (1 September to 4 October) an annual global and ecumenical time to pray, worship, and, engage in environmental stewardship and ecological renewal. Let's continue to walk gently and in love with all of creation.
