It's always a great joy to come to Eugowra for the 9:00am Mass on Saturday. I am heartened to see our Mass attendance continue to grow. There is something special about gathering together in faith in such a warm and welcoming community.
I must admit, there is another part of my Eugowra routine that I have come to treasure as well! After Mass, I always enjoy sitting down at the local café with parishioners for a big breakfast — a bacon and egg roll accompanied by a cup of real coffee. It is a simple pleasure that reminds me of the importance of community, friendship, and taking time to appreciate the blessings of everyday life. Some of the best conversations happen around the breakfast table. We share stories, catch up on each other's lives, laugh together, and continue the sense of fellowship that begins at the altar. It is a beautiful reminder that the Church is not simply a place we go to, but a family to which we belong.
If you are around Eugowra and searching for a faith community to belong to, why not come and join us? Whether you have been away from the Church for a while, are curious about the Catholic faith, or are simply looking for a place to pray and connect with others, you are most welcome. There is always room for one more at God's table.
Mass is celebrated every Saturday at 9:00am at St John the Baptist Church, Eugowra, except on the fifth Saturday of the month. We'd love to see you there.
God bless,
Fr Thao

What an incredible journey Alpha Season 2026 has been!
As this season comes to an end, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.
Over the past weeks, strangers became friends. Meals were shared, stories were told, laughter echoed around the tables, and meaningful conversations unfolded. Together, we discovered that faith is not about having every answer; it is about walking together, asking honest questions, and opening ourselves to the possibility that God is closer than we think.
For many, Alpha became more than just a course. It became a little family.
A special word of thanks to our amazing Alpha leadership teams and volunteers in both Cowra and Canowindra. Thank you for leading discussions, preparing delicious meals, setting up and packing away, and creating a space where everyone felt welcomed, valued, and at home. Through your generosity, hospitality, and countless quiet acts of service, you helped others encounter the love of Christ in a real and powerful way. We simply could not have done it without you.
And now, the question we have been hearing again and again:
"What next?"
The good news is this: the journey doesn't end here.
If Alpha has sparked something within you—a curiosity, a longing, a desire to know God more deeply—then Sycamore might be the next step.
Inspired by Zacchaeus, who climbed a sycamore tree because he wanted to catch a glimpse of Jesus, Sycamore invites us to keep seeking, keep asking, and keep growing. Through engaging videos, relaxed conversation, and genuine friendship, we continue exploring the beauty and relevance of the Christian faith in everyday life.

Thank you to everyone who made Alpha 2026 such a grace-filled experience.
Perhaps Alpha was not the end of the story. Perhaps it was just the beginning.
Come and see where the journey leads next.

What a joyful weekend for our parish communities in Cowra and Canowindra as our children received Jesus in the Eucharist for the very first time.
We give thanks to God for these young members of our parish family and pray that this special day will be the beginning of a lifelong friendship with Christ. May they always know that Jesus walks with them, nourishes them, and calls them to become more like Him each day.
Thank you to our parents and families, who are the first teachers of faith; to our schools and staff for their support and preparation; to our Sacramental Coordinators, choirs, and all the volunteers who helped make these celebrations so meaningful. A special thank you to one of our lovely Year 12 students who generously made the two beautiful cakes for our First Holy Communion celebrations. Your kindness and talent helped make this occasion even more memorable for our children and their families.
Please continue to keep our First Communicants in your prayers, that the joy they experienced in receiving the Body of Christ for the first time may continue to strengthen and guide them throughout their lives.
"Whoever eats this bread will live forever." (John 6:51)
Congratulations to all our First Holy Communion children from Cowra and Canowindra. God bless you all.

Dear friends,
Exciting times ahead for our parish!
Please take a moment to have a look at this poster as we continue preparing for our Parish Assembly. This is an important opportunity for us to come together, celebrate what God is doing among us, and discern the future of our parish.
Please save the date and help spread the word by sharing this invitation with family, friends, and fellow parishioners. The more voices we hear, the richer our conversation will be.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Blessings,
Fr Thao
