Perth Women’s Convention 2026 - Present Suffering Future Hope

A group of Grace Community women joined over 1000 other Christian women in singing praises, prayer, hearing testimonies & book reviews, and learning from God’s word this past Saturday. PWC is always a wonderful and encouraging time where we, as Christian women, see there are many women in Perth who love Jesus and follow His Word. We are not alone! 🎶🙏🏼📖♥️

This year, we were taught from 1 Peter where we, in summary, heard that we as believers are “elect exiles” - God’s set apart, chosen people, foreigners in this world but full of glorious hope; God’s gift of grace, guaranteed for our future and guarded by God Himself. As such, we do not despair in our sufferings, but rather respond to Jesus’ glorious salvation in joy, in praise and by setting our hope on it. ✝️🙌🏼

~ Sermon 11/10/26 ~
1 Thessalonians 4

What should we strive for? Sanctification. We must be careful to weigh up what the world accepts as good and normal—whether it be sexual immorality, self-centred ambition, the accumulation of great wealth, gambling, swearing, anger or gossip—against the truth of God’s Word. The church and the true believers within it will necessarily be different from the world because the world pursues the desires of the flesh, while we pursue the things of the Spirit. We aim for the purer light of God to shine through His people.

We celebrated our church’s 5th anniversary on Sunday. Our pastor Isaac arrived at church to find some lovely people from our congregation, who wish to remain anonymous, had organised the construction of a pulpit as a surprise gift. Up until then, we had been using a music stand. 😊 The comment was made jokingly that Isaac’s finally made it as a real pastor. 😁

In all seriousness, we are incredibly thankful to God who has sustained our church through some incredibly tough times during this past five years. We have seen and felt His comforting, sovereign presence and without His power and will, Grace Community would not exist. We are immensely grateful also for the few who were part of this church from the start and remained over these past 5 years, putting in the hard work to keep the church going. And the people who have come since then, we are encouraged by your presence and deeply love our church community. ♥️

In the latest church newsletter, Isaac wrote, “The question is, should we settle for where we are, or should we aim for greater growth and a deeper connection?” On Sunday, he preached from 1 Thessalonians 4 and urged us to:
- Live to please God more and more (v1-2)
- Grow in holiness more and more (v3-8)
- Love one another more and more (v9-10)
- Work well for God’s glory more and more (v11-12)
- Encourage one another to hope in Jesus’ coming more and more (v13-18) with the conclusion being…
May Grace Community strive to please God by loving and exalting Jesus, through obedience to His commands, love for His brothers and sisters, a desire to live for His glory and encouraging each other to hope in Jesus’ return. 🙌🏼♥️✝️

A new pulpit was secretly custom made and gifted to our church yesterday, in time for Grace Community’s 5th anniversary. What a very special and meaningful gift (we’ve been using a music stand)! 🥰 Thanks to all the people involved. ♥️✝️📖

~ Sermon 04/10/26 ~
The Gospel according to Isaiah: Isaiah 40:1-11

God says, “Behold your God” (v. 9) and reminds them of who He truly is—the incomprehensible, measureless, boundless, all-knowing God. The earth is minuscule to Him, the nations are insignificant, and all the people and human rulers are puny grasshoppers who are there one minute and gone the next at His bidding. He is so holy and mighty and perfect that the greatest sacrifice people could bring would not suffice His justice or render Him enough praise.

Even though God is incomprehensible and transcendent, sitting on the throne and stretching out the heavens, He is also involved in His creation because He loves it. He knows every star by name and never loses one of them, sustaining them by His power.

The Gospel according to Isaiah: Isaiah 40:1-11

In Jesus we see God’s mighty power displayed as He defeats Satan, sin and death, and we see His tender care as the shepherd who tenderly guides and keeps His sheep. How secure is the one who is held by the strong arm of God, right close to the heart of God. How secure is the one who has been snatched from the ruler of this world and has already been transferred into the kingdom of God’s beloved Son (Colossians 1:13).

~ Sermon 20/09/26 ~
The Gospel according to Isaiah: Isaiah 38:4-8 & 15-39:8

Hezekiah humbled himself and thanked God for His mercy even while being judged. When the Assyrian crisis came to a head, Hezekiah sought God, trusted God and surrendered to God’s will. In the very end, after a hiccup or two on the road to sanctification, just like John Newton, Hezekiah finished well.

It was a wonderful afternoon on Saturday! ♥️ Some of the women from Grace Community enjoyed a walk around Kings Park admiring God’s glorious creation, followed by an afternoon tea picnic. 🧺 ☕️ Thank you also to Michelle who shared her testimony with us. 🥰
Our God is an awesome God! 🙌🏼 His design and creation is so intricate and breathtaking and He freely gives it to us for us to enjoy. 😍🌸🌳 He even kept the rain at bay until a tiny sprinkle at the very end. 😁🌦️

~ Sermon 13/09/26 ~
The Gospel according to Isaiah: Isaiah 38:1-3 & 9-14

When we reach the end of our time, what will be the testimony of our faith, for Jesus and among God’s people? What will we be able to look back on and say: although I wasn’t perfect, I really loved serving Jesus, glorifying Jesus, treasuring Jesus, building the church and helping others to mature in Christ? The greatest question must be, “Have I set my house in order?” Hezekiah feared and lamented going down into the gates of Sheol. He understood that it is God who was cutting off his life, and he felt like God was crushing him. So what could he do to avoid the crushing from God? Ask God to be his pledge of safety (v. 14). Ask God to be the one to defend him from God’s own wrath.
