Resurrection Life - Acts 2:42-47

We are called to be devoted to coming to the large gathering and also to gathering in smaller groups so that we can break bread and grow in relationships. The stronger the community, the stronger the church. The greater the community’s love, surely the greater the evangelistic endeavour. People in the world are craving love. God is love, and the church is His representative, inviting the lost to come and know God. The love people should experience in the church ought to be an expression of the love of Jesus for us.

Resurrection Life - Luke 24:50-53 and Acts 1:6-11

On Ascension Day we remember the One who truly does have all power and authority. Forty days after Jesus’ resurrection, He ascended and sat down at the right hand of God, the place of governance and rule. Jesus, the God-man, is seated there, with all things subjected to Him, whether in heaven or on earth. What comfort it is for believers to know that their King is in control of everything. We don’t need to be anxious about the future (Acts 1:7); instead, we’re free to get on with the work of proclaiming to the world that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour.

Mother's Day - Proverbs 31:1-9

The big heart of good mothers wants nothing more than the best for their children. That is what love does. The wisdom of a godly mother points her child to obedience to God’s Word in order to protect their heart from self-indulgent temptations that will cause harm to themselves and others. In fact, mums, having lived self-sacrificially, know the joy of living a life for the benefit of others. So their instruction includes telling their children to use their lives and resources for the good of those who are needy. The essence of their instruction is this: love God and love your neighbour as yourself.

What a beautiful morning was Mother’s Day 2026 at Grace Community Perth! 💐
The mothers of our church had the opportunity to have a pic taken with their kids and also some had pics with their spiritual mothers. 🌻✨
Isaac preached from Proverbs 31:1-9: The words of King Lemuel. An oracle that his mother taught him (v1). We learned that:
- The godly wisdom of a mother is valuable for a king. (v1)
- The heart of a mother is one of constant concern. (v2)
- The godly wisdom of a mother warns against sinful pleasures that harm. (v3)
- The godly wisdom of a mother warns against self-centred indulgence. (v4-5)
- The godly wisdom of a mother teaches care for those perishing and in misery. (v6-7)
- The godly wisdom of a mother teaches advocacy for the poor and needy. (v8-9)
~ Jesus is the godly King we need! ~

Resurrection Life - Acts 2:22-41

When people and churches are filled with the Spirit, Jesus is exalted all the more. As a result of the Spirit’s work, people are convicted of sin so that repentance and obedience may follow. Furthermore, those who are filled with the Spirit eagerly take the good news of Jesus to family, friends, strangers, and even enemies, because when the Spirit is active, the praise of Jesus is continually on our lips.

Peter Sharp - Genesis 24

In Genesis 24, Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for his son. Abraham wouldn’t even be the one choosing the bride. Surely he would want to make sure the in-laws were the kind of people you would be happy to spend your Christmas Day with? What if the servant picked an eccentric girl from an odd family? It looks like he was truly living up to his name as “the man of faith” (Galatians 3:9). Abraham trusted God because God had made him a promise. He trusted God to choose the bride for his son, through whom the promise could carry on. If God makes a promise, you know it will happen, even if you cannot see the particulars of how He will get you there.

Resurrection Life - Acts 2:1-21

As we pursue our relationship with Jesus, striving to know more of Him, the power of the Spirit helps us to “know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that [we] may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19). The greater our understanding of Jesus’ love for us, the more this joy makes us unashamedly eager to speak about Him. We do so like someone who is inebriated—not with slurred speech, but without inhibition or fear of consequences for speaking the truth. Why? Because we know Jesus loves us so much that He died to secure our salvation, and we know He has sent His Spirit into our hearts, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Resurrection Life - Philippians 3:2-21

Philippians 3 reminds us that, as Christians, we live with two realities. We live in a world marked by sin and death, a world dominated by the flesh, of which we are naturally a part. Yet we also live as people of the Spirit. We are those who have been redeemed from sin and the death it brings. We have been given new life—a life raised from the dead through Jesus’ death and resurrection. So we live here, among a crooked and twisted generation, clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

Psalm 22:22-31

Jesus endured the punishment for all the sins His sheep had committed (and will commit). He chose to stay on the cross rather than save himself from humiliation, excruciating pain, and the heartache of being forsaken by His ever-loving Father.

How our lives would be truly transformed and our focus rightly shifted if we were to “comprehend the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge” (Ephesians 3:18–19). It was the death and resurrection of Jesus that caused eleven timid men to go out into the world, risking their lives — and in almost all cases losing them — to tell the world about Jesus, the crucified and risen Saviour.
