Paul doesn’t separate enthusiasm and generosity as two completely different things.

He puts them side by side, part of the same picture of a life lived in response to God.

Don’t let one excel without the other.

Because genuine enthusiasm isn’t just about being passionate or excited. And generosity isn’t simply about what we give.

They both flow from a heart that has been stirred by God.

When God stirs our hearts, it changes what we’re willing to do, how we live and how freely we give.

Let your enthusiasm and your generosity grow together.

Big doors swing on small hinges.

It’s such a simple picture, but it carries a powerful truth.

The small things that seem insignificant can be the very things holding everything together.

The quiet prayers.
The consistent obedience.
The little acts of faithfulness.
The things nobody else sees.

They might not feel important in the moment, but they can make all the difference between something standing or falling.

Don’t underestimate the small things.

What feels ordinary today might be carrying something much bigger than you realise.

We’re not just building a church. We’re building a people.

A church built by God, filled with people who have been changed by His generous grace.

Every seat we add.
Every room we create.
Every gift given with an open, stirred heart.

These things may seem small, but they’re markers of something much bigger.

Because what we’re building isn’t ultimately about buildings or numbers.

It’s about people. It’s about lives changed by Jesus. It’s about something that lasts beyond what we can see.

Every act of generosity is a small part of a much bigger, eternal story.

We picture David out in the field, quietly tending to his sheep…

Meanwhile, this guy was wrestling lions and bears

When Samuel asked Jesse if he had another son, David wasn’t even considered important enough to be in the room.

He was out with the sheep.

But what looked ordinary on the outside was actually preparing David for something extraordinary.

The field was building his courage.
The battles were building his faith.
The hidden season was preparing him for his future.

Never underestimate what God is doing in the places nobody else sees.

Your hidden season might be preparing you for your next one.

God stirred the hearts of people to give, to go and to rebuild His house.

And here at Generocity, we believe He is still stirring hearts today.

We’re stirred to be a city that treats people differently, with the love, acceptance and forgiveness of Jesus.

Not just a church that gathers, but a people who carry His heart into our city.

To love people.
To accept people.
To forgive freely.
To show people what Jesus is like.

What could happen if we allowed God to stir our hearts and move us into action?

David didn’t start in a palace.

He started in the fields.

He was a shepherd. He fought lions and bears. He learned to protect what had been entrusted to him. He grew in courage, faith and strength long before anyone saw him as a king.

And when Samuel arrived, God didn’t look at what David was in that moment. He saw who David was becoming.

God was preparing him in the ordinary places for the extraordinary purpose ahead.

Maybe what you’re walking through right now feels small, hidden or insignificant.

But what if God is using this season to prepare you for what He has ahead?

Don’t despise the field.
It might be where your faith is being built.

What if the question isn’t, Do I have enough?

But instead, What do I have?

In this story, no one is recorded as complaining about not having enough. There was no, I can’t give because I don’t have enough.

Instead, there was a willingness to stay open-handed with what they already had.

Because generosity isn’t always about having more. Sometimes it’s simply being willing to place what’s already in your hands before God and say, If You can use this, it’s Yours.

You don’t need to have everything to be generous.

You just need to be willing to open your hands.

What do you already have that God might be asking you to release?

10,663 kids.

That’s how many children aged 2–12 live in the Coffs Harbour area, according to the last Census.

And 56% of those children and their families don’t identify as Christian.

That means thousands of children in our community may be growing up without knowing the hope, love and truth of Jesus.

This isn’t just a statistic.

These are children.
These are families.
These are lives that matter to God.

So the question is… what are we going to do about it?

The mission field isn’t always somewhere far away.

Sometimes, it’s right outside our front door.

There’s something contagious about being around enthusiastic people.

They’re full of energy, passion and spirit. They’re devoted. They’re willing. They see an obstacle and look for a way through rather than a reason to stop.

No problem is too great.
No wall is too high.
No challenge is too much.

And when that enthusiasm is rooted in God, it becomes more than personality or positivity. It becomes a willingness to believe, to act and to keep going.

What would change if we approached what God has called us to with that kind of enthusiasm?
