Our regular kid-friendly movie nights are becoming a real community favourite 💫 The space themed movie night was a blast! 🚀🌙 The kids loved creating their own outer space scenes - don’t they look terrific!

👋 Today we welcomed Salvos Media to Merri-bek City Salvos as they were filming for some upcoming events.

Commissioner Miriam Gluyas (Territorial Commander) and Colonels John and Lani Chambers’s (Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries) were onsite and getting into an early festive spirit! 🎄

Sarah and Dion from AOD and Courts & Housing volunteered their time to be first-time “actors” and will feature in one of the promos. A bit of fun and some collaboration between Corps and Social. Well done guys! 🎅 🌟 🎄

Our international leader, General Lyndon Buckingham shares this message.

“With deep sorrow, The Salvation Army around the world stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and Tibet (China). We are praying for the families of those who have died and for the many thousands who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

We feel their grief, their fear and their vulnerability and we call on the citizens of the world to reach out with your own prayers on behalf of our Nepalese and Tibetan brothers and sisters. We also sense the shock of families of international visitors to the region who have lost their lives or who are missing. We need to be praying for all affected persons and for the response personnel and their efforts to help survivors sustain life amid such tragic circumstances and destruction.”

👬👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏾Today we celebrated Kids Sunday and held our Junior Soldier Renewal segment.

As people arrived they got to write notes of encouragement to our young people which were presented to them at the end of the morning. Everyone participated in some way, though music, speaking, assisting during three creative talks following the theme: God’s love overflows! ❤️

🍪🧁 A huge thanks to our Youth Group that baked and decorated cupcakes for sale during morning tea. We raised $585 to help support those attending the upcoming Kids and Youth Camps.

🥳 Kids Sunday this week - join us at 10am!!!

This week our young people will be leading worship and we will also have our Junior Soldier Renewal segment.

🧁 🍪 After church, we will enjoy a delicious morning tea that will have been made by our Youth Group! Last year there were some creative cupcakes and this year there will be more, plus biscuits and slice.

Please come prepared with a donation for morning tea and all money raised will help our young people attend this years Victorian Kids and Youth Camps in September!!
