Warm welcome to all of you including our friends from the Pacific Islands and other countries in the Name of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. Koe Ekalesia Niue Northside koe Ekalesia kamata he tau matakainaga Niue ne nonofo kehe faahi uta ha Brisbane he tau 2021. Ko lautolu ia hanei – Kautau & Frances Taleni, Siua & Ligi Togasiua, Togia & Ange Puhotau and Duncan & Dana Taleni. HISTORY - THE OLD C
HURCH
Prior to Nov 2020, there was another Church by the name of "Ekklesia Niue Brisbane" who used to worship at the Zilmere Community Centre here in Brisbane. Many of our members were part of that first Church and some like Kau & Frances Taleni, Duncan & Dana Taleni, Maryanne Makavilitogia founded that Church with Rev George Sionetuato. In April 2019, Siua and Ligi Togasiua were then anointed as Ulumotua in a ceremony led by Rev Don and Ere Ikitoelagi from Ekalesia Parnell, Auckland. In Nov 2020, following the departure of George to go back to NZ, that Church was discontinued. George was only one of the original founders of Ekklesia Niue. HISTORY - THE NEW CHURCH (ENNC)
A new indepedent Church named "Ekalesia Niue Northside" was established at the start of 2021 and operates under the leadership of devout Christian Believers Dean & Fiona Douglas. They are assisted by the Ulumotua (Elders), tau Tiakono (Deacons) and the Executive Committee appointed by the congregation. In Jan 2021, at our request, the Senior Pastor of the Clontarf Beach Baptist church, Reverend Andrew Otte, then started attending our services to help with the communion and other Spiritual duties. We're extremely grateful for the support from Andrew and CBBC including Rev Allen, Rev PJ and our Filipino Simbahang family. The beliefs of the CBBC which you can see on their website - https://clontarfbaptist.org/ are similar to the beliefs we embraced. In March 2022 Ekalesia Niue Northside was officially registered. The word Ekalesia is the Niuean equivalent of the Koine Greek word Ekklesia or Ecclesia. It means "a Church". In the New Testament, it stands for a group of people who have been called out of the world and set-apart to do God’s work. CURRENT PROGRESS
Since ENNC started the numbers have increased steadily. We now have many new families/members who are coming regularly (Moka & Jo & children, Duncan & Dana, Norton & Jamie & children, Jamal & Nise family, Douglas & Hayley Tukutama, Kini Sakalia & also Josh Taleni). They have joined the families who were already there - Gia & Ange, Kau & Frances, Ryan, Sapa & Maria, Siua & Ligi, Dean & Fiona. We were also blessed to have two new tupuna (Pina & Tuku Mahakitau). Our regular members are supported by the following families especially during special occasions like Peniamina Day or Aho he Maama. In no particular order, they are - Loa & Hane Tukutama, Liva & Polito Sakalia, Nita Puhotau, Pastor Joe & Mua Peauvale, Marylou Sionemale Tasmania and her children, Rose & Falani family, Ikimana & Family, Phyllys Sewak, Maui & Jenna Jackson, Roger & Tino Jackson, families from Beenleigh Ekalesia and many more. The number of Page followers have also increased to over 650 since we came onboard. The Sunday school, Youth, Band, livestream and many other initiatives were only started under the new Church and leadership. In early 2021 many of our members stood up and publicly accepted Jesus as our Saviour. In Oct 2022, many more members including those families who were visiting also stood up and publicly accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. BELIEFS
Our community is an inclusive community that exists for one and only one purpose - to serve and glorify our Almighty God, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is God's inspired true and infallible living Word. We believe that God created the heavens, earth and everything in them. We believe that Jesus came to earth in an unblemished perfect form; fully man and fully God; then died on the cross to atone for our sins before coming back to life three days later. We believe in the Trinity - one God but in three distinct co-equal persons - Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. We conduct our services in both Niuean and English. Our Niuean language and culture is very important to us and while we value and promote our Vagahau (language) and Aga Fakamotu (culture) we do not put those things first ahead of God. The same goes for our Niuean traditions and customs – we remember and value some of our traditions only because we want to first and foremost, glorify our Most High God. We hold weekly services every Sunday afternoon, at 2:30PM, 145-149 Elizabeth Ave at Clontarf at the CBBC hall. Uiina atu kia mutolu oti ke omai ke tapuaki auloa a tautolu kehe Atua Tapu moe Tokoluga.
