Frontier Services has appointed Dave Parker as its new National Director, marking a significant moment of renewal for the Uniting Church’s bush ministry agency.

Bringing extensive leadership experience from Scripture Union Australia, Dave will help lead the growth of bush chaplaincy, strengthen First Peoples’ chaplaincy, and expand volunteer engagement across remote communities.

“I am excited and honoured to lead this incredible organisation into its next chapter,” he says.

Dave will commence in late May.

For more than a century, Frontier Services has supported people in rural and remote communities, offering practical, pastoral and spiritual care to those facing isolation, hardship and limited access to essential services.

The Uniting Church in Australia stands in prayerful solidarity with our global ecumenical partners, the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) and the World Council of Churches, as they raise their voices in response to the violence and instability in the Middle East.

We echo their deep concern at the devastating impact of ongoing military strikes, particularly on civilians and civilian infrastructure. We join in denouncing attacks on civilian locations and call for the protection of civilians, respect for international humanitarian law, and immediate steps toward peace.

The Uniting Church also reiterates the urgent call for restraint, de-escalation, and an end to the cycle of violence, recognising the growing humanitarian crisis affecting communities, particularly in Iran and Lebanon.
