Happy Father's Day to all Dads, not only in our parish, but also throughout the community.
Father’s Day is a special opportunity to give thanks for the fathers, grandfathers and father figures who have loved, supported and encouraged us throughout our lives.

We were blessed at All Saints today, to have Fr Bruce Boase celebrate and preach for us, as we await the return from leave of Fr Daniel Paulraj next week.

Please join us in praying for the people of Nepal following catastrophic flash floods.
On 26 August, collapsing glacial ice and rock near the Nepal-China border unleashed a torrent of water, mud and debris through Himalayan valleys. Communities in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts are among the worst affected. Hundreds of people have died, many hundreds remain missing and homes, roads, bridges and places of worship have been destroyed or damaged. Rescue work continues amid the risk of further flooding.
The Anglican Church in Nepal has asked for urgent prayer, following reports that pastors and members of local churches are among those who have died or remain missing. Several churches have also been damaged.
Please pray for all those still unaccounted for, those who are grieving and families in urgent need of shelter, food, clean water and medicine. Pray also for pastors and church leaders serving devastated communities, and for all those leading rescue and relief efforts.
God of compassion,
draw near to the people of Nepal.
Comfort those who mourn,
protect those who remain in danger,
strengthen those searching for the missing
and sustain all who are serving their neighbours.
Bring help, healing and hope to every affected community.
Amen.

Happy 31st birthday, APBA! It was on the 6th of July 1995 that General Synod passed the "Prayer Book for Australia Canon 1995" that authorised the book as "Liturgical Resources Authorised by the General Synod" - so not exactly a Prayer Book on the scale of some of the others on this shelf. There's a deciduous copy of 1662 there, and the other one that didn't quite make it to full authorisation, 1928, and the "Draft" APBA that took a bit of a mauling on the floor of General Synod before the Canon was passed. Here's a prayer for all of us who continue to use this book as the springboard for our liturgical efforts, even if during services we no longer hold it in our hands quite so often.

Come, Holy Spirit,
and renew the life of your Church.
We thank you for A Prayer Book for Australia,
the foundation of our worship for more than 30 years.
Thank you for the theological truth,
the economy of language,
the freedom to adapt,
and the wisdom of many generations
that we find in its pages.
Refresh our common prayer in these changing times.
Bless us with words old and new
to praise and thank the living God.
Bless us with symbols and ceremonies
that speak clearly of forgiveness and hope.
Bless us with courage and skill
to carry our prayer into action,
bearing Good News to the world,
through our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

A moving reading this morning from Genesis 22:1-14, read by Suzanne Glew . Fr Daniel Paulraj wrote a truly deep and inspiring message, explaining the story through the eyes of Abraham's son Isaac, while Stephen Clarke delivered the text of the message beautifully. The bottom line of this, and so many other parts of scripture is 'THE LORD WILL PROVIDE'. We are so blessed🙏
