For Filipino migrants, finding a community starts with faithand for 20 years in Chatswood and 7 years under its formal charter, the Filipino Chaplaincy of the Diocese of Broken Bay has been a vibrant home away from home! ❤️

The community recently gathered at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral in Waitara for a special Thanksgiving Mass and Cultural Showcase, celebrating both the 40th anniversary of the Diocese of Broken Bay and the 7th anniversary of the Diocesan Filipino Chaplaincy.

See you this Sunday!

Today, we celebrate the feast day of St Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint and a beloved patron of Filipino Catholics around the world.

Born in Binondo, Manila, Lorenzo carried his faith with him to Japan, where he was captured and tortured. His courage, deep trust in God and unwavering commitment to his faith continue to inspire us — especially as Filipino families living far from our homeland, building our lives and communities here in Australia.

On this special feast day, may we continue to walk together in faith, supporting one another and bringing the warmth, generosity and joyful spirit of the Filipino community to our parish.

San Lorenzo Ruiz, ipanalangin mo kami! 🇵🇭❤️🙏
