WorldShare

WorldShare WorldShare is a community of believers passionate about showing and sharing the love of Jesus. Jesus came to give life - life to the full.

Our purpose is to see lives transformed and hope restored across the world through education, health and sharing the gospel. And yet across the world, so many people are suffering in poverty. The most vulnerable are outcast and forgotten, living without a sense of worth or hope. Our approach is partnership-driven. We come alongside locally-run Christian organisations that are creating life-changin

g opportunities for the world’s most vulnerable and marginalised people. We listen rather than lead, providing resources, expertise, and prayer support to help bring their God-given vision for their community to life. Our goal is to combine best-practice aid and development with passionate Christian faith so that Christian organisations around the world are effective, resilient, and can bring about lasting change for their communities.

She lost her hearing at 8. Lost her mother not long after. And found herself in a household where she was treated as less than equal. The odds were stacked against her.

Tina had every reason to give up. But she didn't.

Through the love of Jesus — shown through WorldShare's local ministry partners in the DR Congo — everything changed. Step by step, she gained an education, a faith, a career, and a family of her own.

"Without the centre's help, my life would be nothing. I would be a street child, perhaps even an obstacle to social life."

This End of Financial Year, your generosity can write the next story like hers.

What a moving Sunday we had in Sydney! ⛪️ The WorldShare team had such a wonderful time visiting Evangelical Free Church of Australia, Chatswood last weekend.

We were invited to share about WorldShare and the work we do during their Missions spot, and from the moment we arrived, we felt so warmly welcomed by the whole church family. It was a true joy connecting with their community and hearing their hearts for Missions.

After the service, some of the congregation came over and shared with us their stories of faithful support in mission fields around the world. Their passion and commitment truly inspired us.

Moments like these remind us why partnership and connection matter so much. A huge thank you to the entire Evangelical Free Church of Australia family for your warm hospitality and generous hearts. We loved every moment with you!

Check out some of the moments captured on the day. 📸

Today we celebrate every mother — including those who've had to fight the hardest just to be one.

Around the world, motherhood looks different. For some, it means overcoming abandonment. For others, it means rebuilding from trauma. For all of them, it means choosing love every single day.

At WorldShare, we believe every mother deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated — no matter where she lives.

To every mum reading this: you are loved. And to the mothers, our local partners walk alongside in Uganda, India, DR Congo, Cambodia and Indonesia — we see you, and we're honoured to stand with you.

Happy Mother's Day 💐

These faces hold stories of unimaginable pain — and unimaginable courage. 💛

These young mothers arrived at our local partner's pregnancy crisis centre in Uganda alone, abandoned, and without hope. Many were victims of abuse. Many had been rejected by their own families.

But they didn't stay that way.

Through shelter, pre- and post-natal care, counselling, life skills training, and the love of a community rooted in faith, these women found something they thought was gone — hope for themselves and their children.

As Mother's Day approaches this Sunday, we're honouring mothers everywhere — including these incredible women in Uganda who chose life, found strength, and are building a future for their little ones.

"At that time, my husband and I were so stressed and upset, and we totally lost hope."

Three years ago, Dara's family was in freefall. No income. No savings. No floor. Her boys stopped going to school. Her marriage was fracturing under the pressure.
Then someone showed up. And kept showing up.

Through WorldShare's local ministry partners in Cambodia, the boys were enrolled in a child sponsorship program — practical support that reduced the pressure, and a team that kept coming back to sit with Dara and her husband, listen, and walk alongside them through the hard work of rebuilding.

Today, her boys ride to school every morning — backpacks full, having eaten breakfast. "The sponsorship project has transformed our family and restored our hope," Dara says.

Dara's full story is in Issue 5 of HOPE Magazine — out now. Read it online: https://worldshare.org.au/get-involved/hope-magazine/, or, if you prefer a hard copy in hand with a cuppa, drop us a PM.

In a world that feels increasingly uncertain, where do you find solid ground?

Issue 5 of HOPE Magazine is here — and it's all about finding stability in Christ. About what it looks like when that hope is lived out in the hardest of places.

Inside you'll find five stories that show exactly what that looks like in practice — a grandmother in Sumba weaving her grandchildren's future, a family in Cambodia who lost hope and found it again, a young mother in Uganda who refused to let shame have the final word, a little boy in Goma whose hand is learning to open, and a pastor who flew to Cambodia and came home changed.

Real people. Real places. Real hope.

Inside, you'll find stories from Indonesia, Cambodia, Uganda, and the DR Congo — real people, real transformation, and a reminder that even in a world that feels increasingly unstable, there is solid ground to stand on.

The woman on our cover is Lisa. She's 70 years old, raising her grandchildren in a remote village in Sumba — and we can't wait for you to meet her.

In the meantime — do you receive HOPE Magazine? If not, now is a great time to sign up. We'll make sure Issue 5 lands in your mailbox when it’s published.

Easter Sunday is a reminder that the story didn't end at the cross — it was only the beginning. From darkness came light. From sorrow came joy. From death came life everlasting.

As we celebrate the resurrection today, we are reminded that the same power that rolled away the stone is alive in each of us. No matter what you're walking through, there is always hope.

Wishing everyone in our WorldShare community a blessed and joyful Easter. Share in the comments how you're celebrating the resurrection today! 👇

On this Good Friday, we stand at the foot of the cross — a place of sorrow, yes, but also of unimaginable love. Today we remember the price that was paid for us: not in silver or gold, but in suffering, in surrender, and in the purest form of grace the world has ever known.

In a world that so often feels broken, the cross reminds us that no darkness is beyond the reach of His love. Take a moment today to be still, to be grateful, and to remember the One who carried it all for us. ❤

Drop an 'Amen' in the comment if your heart is full of gratitude today. 🙏

Mary* once lived in fear that everything could fall apart at any moment.

Today she has hope. Today she has stability. Today she has a community behind her.

"I have never had support like this before." Recalls Mary.

That support exists because supporters like you choose to give — faithfully, consistently, month after month.
