“WHO IS MY NEIGHBOUR?”

Jesus was once asked this question in the book of Luke. He answered with the parable of the Good Samaritan - a story of a man who showed mercy to the vulnerable when others chose to walk past.

This June, on World Refugee Sunday, the global church stands together to honour, pray for, and walk alongside some of the world’s most vulnerable: people who have been forcibly displaced.

“Go and do likewise.” - Luke 10:37

Discussing the rising displacement and escalating risks for religious minorities across the Gulf and wider Middle East.

Churches and community networks are now stretched beyond capacity.

From migrant worker vulnerability in the Gulf to the growing threat of surveillance, arrests, and targeted pressure of minority communities, the report outlines the realities governments and institutions continue to overlook.

“YOU SILENCED US, BUT WE ARE NOT SILENT.”

This International Women’s Day, we stand with women like *Mara - a young girl from Afghanistan who was imprisoned and abused by the Taliban in 2024 for participating in an informal art class.

Since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, Afghanistan has become the only country in the world where girls are banned from secondary and higher education.

The artworks and reflections shared here are Mara’s own. She is currently living as a refugee in Pakistan, where the threat of deportation looms every day.

Join us in standing with women like Mara, who are seeking safety, freedom, and a future where they can live and create freely.

If you serve refugees, new migrants, culturally diverse communities, or simply want to grow in trauma-informed pastoral care, this workshop is for you.

Join Adrian and Sherene Wi (Amecet Ministries) as they share decades of frontline trauma-care experience in an interactive, practical training environment.

Having served in over 15 countries, they’ve worked with countless refugee groups around the world, providing trauma care in transit cities, camps, and resettlement communities for displaced families and frontline service providers.

They’ve also worked with:

• Local caregivers supporting survivors of the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda
• First Nations communities across North America, developing culturally responsive trauma-care approaches
• Inuit communities, training caregivers to address intergenerational trauma

…and many more.

Come ready to learn, reflect, ask questions, and gain tools that bring real, practical hope and healing to those you walk alongside.

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2026

Across Australia, Chinese churches are growing and thriving.

They play a vital role in supporting migrants as they settle into a new country, offering community, language support, social connection, and a spiritual home for both first and second-generation families.

At Philoi Global, we deeply value the heart and resilience of Chinese Christians, especially their commitment to serving others.

This New Year, we invite Chinese churches and believers to join us in raising awareness for Christians who are forcibly displaced around the world.

We've created free resources for your church (and more to come), and while they are offered at no cost, we welcome any free-will donation to help cover the costs. (The costs shown online are to cover the shipping costs. Alternatively, you could pick up the resources from our office - St Pauls Anglican Church, Chatswood 2067, NSW.

We’d love to meet with you!

“Because of the recent situation in Iran and the intensification of protests, the security and emotional conditions for us and our family have been extremely difficult.

During this period, several of our friends and acquaintances have sadly lost their lives.”

Across Iran, many people are currently without reliable access to electricity, gas, or water. Families are facing uncertainty as loved ones are missing or have passed away.

Here in Australia, Iranian families we support are deeply affected. Some are grieving losses, while others are waiting for news about family members.

Please join Philoi in praying for Iran - for peace, justice, mercy, and freedom.

If you would like to support Iranian families who have resettled in Australia as they navigate uncertainty surrounding their families back home, you are welcome to donate to our Exodus Fund via our Donate page and write “Iran” in the description.

*Names have been left ambiguous for security reasons.
