We have our tower!!!!
A massive thank you to the team from Townsville Cranes and Timber Restoration Services for all their work today getting 10 tonnes of tower, 2 tonnes of Bell and 3 tonnes of roof upright and fixed into position. James and Shane have a bit more work to do over the coming days to put the finishing touches on our masterpiece. Thanks also to everyone that dropped by to offer their support today - a great day for our community!

The big day is finally here!!!
The crane is booked for Wednesday the 3rd and the tower is ready to ring! We can't wait to show you photos of the tower in all its glory!

Today we welcomed back James from Timber Restoration Services on site. James is back to construct the framework for the roof and the sheeting is due to arrive in the coming weeks.

Several people have asked about donations and there are three ways to donate.

This can be done online or by visiting your local bank branch.

The third option if you prefer cash or a cheque is to visit the parish office and we will help you out.

We said recently that if we can find 10,000 people with a connection to the bell tower, town or Parish, and they could give $20 each - we'd reach our goal.

(Of course we're always happy to receive a bit more too 😆)

We'd love to hear your stories of connection with the tower in the comments or through messages - it is these stories that keep inspiring us to complete this wonderful project!

Our committee meets tonight and we are hoping to be able to announce some plans for a re-commissioning of the new tower soon.

Demolition update.
The bell is off and Jamie and the Timber Restoration Services team have almost removed the old tower. The roof is posing challenges but the team are working hard. Hopefully, next week we can share some photos of construction!
