🙏 May Your Kingdom Come Soon — Second Petition (Lordship)

As we continue in 24/7 prayer this week, we move to the second petition of the Lord's Prayer — a "now and not yet" prayer.

It expresses our longing for justice and peace now, while holding onto anticipation for Jesus' return. We pray for the gospel to be active in our community, our society, and our relationships.

This petition also calls us to submit our emotions, thoughts, desires and commitments to His Lordship — letting His Kingdom rule in every part of our lives, not just the world around us.

Join us in praying: May Your Kingdom come soon.

Today we join with 24/7 Prayer, joining Christians around the world in setting aside time to pray.
Yesterday, Christie reminded us to Pray Like This.
Today, we reflect on the first petition she showed us as Jesus teaches us how to pray:
“May Your name be kept holy.”
We are bearers of His image, created to reflect Him in the world. As Genesis 1:26–27 reminds us, we are made in the image of God. We are called to honour Him not only with our words, but through our thoughts and actions.
As we enter this week of prayer, may our lives reflect who He is. May we live righteous lives, full of wonder and gratitude, and may our prayers and lives become a witness so that more people may come to know and accept Jesus.
This week, let's begin with God.
May His name be honoured.
May His name be known.
May His name be kept holy.
Join us as we take part in the 24/7 Prayer Week, praying alongside the global Church. 🙏

**Church @ The Place | This Morning**

This morning Warren took us through **John 14–17 — Jesus commissions us**, exploring what it means to follow Jesus, receive the Holy Spirit and join in his mission.

Warren drew on Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s powerful poem **“Stations on the Road to Freedom”** and its challenge:

Four Movements of Consecration

Protection - Identity - Truth - Misson
(John 17: 15-19)

Freedom in Christ isn't simply about doing what we want. It is learning to follow Jesus, trusting the Holy Spirit, and having the courage to step into what he calls us to.

A great morning of worship, challenge and encouragement.

are not just called to follow Jesus — we are sent by Jesus. #

What a beautiful Sunday together at Church @ The Place! 🙌

Paula continued our journey through the **Upper Room Discourse in John 14–17**, sharing from John 14:12–21 on **“The Promise of the Holy Spirit.”**

Jesus promised that His followers would not be left alone. The Holy Spirit would come to live within us, empowering us to continue the work of Jesus and participate in the “greater works” because we all get to play.

We were reminded that this isn’t about doing more in our own strength, but about making room for the Holy Spirit to work through ordinary people — bringing God’s love, presence, healing and hope into the lives of those around us.

And, as we worshipped together, we were reminded of our need for Jesus in every moment:

*“I look to the mountains, where does my help come from.....”*

What a privilege to follow Jesus together and to welcome the presence and work of the Holy Spirit among us. ❤️

**“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” — John 14:18**

Last Sunday, Mel invited us to explore how Creation Care and the Trinity are deeply connected. She reminded us that creation is not simply a resource to be used, but a gift that reflects the love, creativity, and relationship at the heart of our triune God. As we care for the world around us, we participate in God's ongoing work of renewal, living out our calling to be faithful stewards of His creation.

What a wonderful day at SCVC yesterday.

We were so aware of God's presence among us as we gathered together. There was a real sense of peace, encouragement, and connection as we worshipped, prayed, and shared fellowship.

We're grateful for all that God is doing in and through our community and look forward with expectation to what lies ahead.

Today, we pause in shared sorrow to honour the lives lost in the Bondi tragedy. We hold close the families, friends, and first responders whose courage and compassion shone amid profound loss. In this time of mourning, we stand together in unity, choosing care over fear and love over hate. Light will win, a gathering of unity and remembrance.
