Earlier today, a group of Kehilat Nitzan members and friends were led on a tour of the Melbourne Holocaust Museum by Margaret Taft. It was an amazing and emotional visit, which we are grateful to Sidney Bloch for organising, and was part of our ongoing World Jewry lecture series.

Rabbi Yonatan addressed the crowd gathered at Caulfield Park this morning as the world anxiously awaits the release of all of the remaining hostages.

Masorti Olami issued the following statement: "With profound gratitude and heartfelt relief, we welcome and celebrate the news of the agreement to bring home the hostages and to bring an end to the war in Gaza, expected to take effect in the coming hours.

We offer our thanks to all those who worked tirelessly to make this agreement possible, and to the leaders who chose the difficult path of dialogue and compromise in the pursuit of life and peace. This moment embodies the sacred Jewish principle of pikuach nefesh, the preservation of human life above all else, and pidyon shvuyim, the redemption of captives."

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our High Holy Day services so meaningful — from our gabbaim, all those who read from Torah & Haftorah, service leaders, our choir, all our amazing shofar blowers, volunteers, and each person who joined us in prayer. Your time, energy, and spirit brought our community together in the most beautiful way. Please enjoy some of these photos and video taken during Havdalah.

As we carry the energy of these holy days into the new year, we invite you to contribute to our Kol Nidre Appeal, helping us continue the vital work of our synagogue throughout the year. As discussed on Kol Nidre a portion of your donations will be sent to help rebuild Kibbutz Nir Oz, in Israel. Every contribution counts.
