In the bishop's absence, his commissary, Archdeacon Tim St Quintin, has emailed a pastoral note with prayers. In essence, he said that on the back of bushfires in Victoria and NSW, floods in northern Queensland, and uncertainty in Iran—our thoughts and prayers are with all affected. Psalm 46 reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Pray for those who have lost homes, livelihoods, or loved ones; for emergency services and volunteers, and for the long path of recovery ahead. Pray also for protection, relief, and a renewed trust in Jesus, our sure and certain hope even in hardship.
