Let us be honest with ourselves.

Are you going through a spiritual famine and not even know it?

How abundant is the Word of God in your daily life?
Is it consumed as daily bread, or only heard once a week on Sundays?

How abundant is God's Word in your home life? Is it regularly read and devoured in family devotion, or is it largely absent from the rhythm of the household?

Do churches faithfully equip their members to study the Scriptures for themselves, or has Bible intake slowly become something left to the pastor alone?

And in the home, who carries this responsibility? Do fathers lead their families in the Word of God? Do mothers nurture their children with Scripture, prayer, and truth?

Amos 8:11-14 warns of a judgment more severe than physical famine. God declares a coming famine, not of bread or water, but of hearing His Word. A time when people will search desperately for truth, yet not find it.

This is not merely about external access to Scripture. It is about a people who have heard but not treasured, who have been given truth but have grown cold toward it.

The question is not whether God speaks. The question is whether we are still hungry to hear Him.

"When Spiritual Drought Happened"

In Amos 8:11-14, God warns of a famine unlike any other. Not a famine of bread or water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord. The people who once ignored God's voice would desperately seek His Word and not find it. This sobering passage reminds us of the precious privilege we have today to hear God's Word and calls us to respond while His truth is proclaimed.

Come and hear what God's Word teaches about the danger of spiritual neglect and the urgency of seeking the Lord.

Are you sure your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life?

That is the question Nehemiah 7 will not let us avoid.

This Sunday 7 June 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church, we continued our Nehemiah series and came to chapter 7. On the surface it looks like a genealogical list. Names. Numbers. Families. Census records.

But this chapter is not filler. The Holy Spirit never waste ink. It is theology.

God protects what He has built. He purifies the people who belong to Him. And He provides for the life that goes on inside the walls He has restored.

And underneath all of it is this one pressing question for every person sitting among the people of God.

Not are you a regular attender. Not is your name on a membership roll. Not were you raised in a Christian home.

Was your name ever written in the Lamb's Book of Life at all?

Revelation 21:27 says nothing unclean will enter the eternal city, only those written in the Lamb's Book of Life. And those names were written before the foundation of the world.

This is not a comfortable question. It is meant to search you.

We invite you to listen to the full message and worship God with us. Link in the comments.

โ“ Do you genuinely belong to the people of God?

Many people identify with Christianity, attend church, or have a religious background. But the question Scripture confronts us with is deeper:

Are you truly one of God's people?

Join us this Sunday as we continue our study through Nehemiah and discover how God protects His people, purifies His people, and faithfully provides for His people.

Host a Home Bible Study

How much time do you spend consuming the world's opinions compared to studying God's Word?

We make time for work, entertainment, social media, and countless other commitments. But are we intentionally setting aside time to open the Scriptures with others and grow together in the knowledge of Christ?

The early church devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, prayer, and the breaking of bread. Home Bible studies provide a wonderful opportunity to encourage one another, study God's Word together, ask questions, pray, and strengthen relationships within the church family.

Would you consider opening your home during the week to host a Home Bible Study?

1 Peter 2:11-17
For the Lord's Sake: Holy Living in a Hostile World
Bro Noel Fabro

What would we see if a hidden camera followed you around this week? Would the world mock and accuse you of being a Christian? Or would it embrace you as one of its own?

1 Peter 2:11-17 confronts every believer with a sobering reality. Holy living is not optional. It is the inevitable evidence of who you belong to, the unavoidable testimony of where you are going, and the God-ordained means by which a watching world is brought to glorify God on the last day.

This morning we are asking the hard questions.

What does your war against sin actually look like?
Is your life visibly different from the world around you?
Is the fear of God actually driving you, not just on Sunday mornings, but in your daily life?

Watch and be challenged. Share with someone who needs to hear it.

Message starts on 22:20

Bro Noel Fabro will be preaching from 1 Peter 2:11-17

โ€œFOR THE LORDโ€™S SAKE: HOLY LIVING IN A HOSTILE WORLDโ€

As Christians, we are called to live differently in a world that is at war against God. Peter reminds believers that fleshly lusts wage war against the soul and that holy living is both our witness and our worship.

What does the war against sin look like in your life?
Are you fighting sin or becoming comfortable with it?
How should Christians live faithfully in a hostile world for the Lordโ€™s sake?

Come and hear Godโ€™s Word preached and be encouraged to stand firm in holiness, submission, and faithful witness for Christ.

๐Ÿ•œ 1:30PM Afternoon Prayer Meeting

Church family, come and gather with us again in the afternoon as we seek the Lord together in prayer. Let us worship God not only with our voices on Sunday morning but also through humble dependence upon Him in prayer.

Let us live as holy people, devoted to Christ, loving His church, and seeking His glory together.

Do you consider yourself religious?

In Romans 2:17 to 29, the Apostle Paul confronts one of the most dangerous deceptions in the world: trusting in religion instead of trusting in Christ.

The Jews believed they were safe because they had the Law, religious heritage, circumcision, and outward obedience. Yet Paul exposes the reality that outward religion cannot save a sinful heart.

Pastor Sam Ramos preached a sobering message on the danger of religious hypocrisy and self deception.

You can grow up in church.
You can know the Bible.
You can sing Christian songs.
You can be baptised.
You can attend every service.

And yet still be lost.

The issue is not merely external religion, but whether there has been genuine regeneration and true faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

โ€œFor he is not a Jew who is one outwardlyโ€ฆ but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heartโ€ฆโ€ Romans 2:28 to 29

This sermon calls us to examine ourselves honestly before God:
Is our profession matched by a transformed life?
Do we merely appear holy outwardly while our hearts remain unchanged?
Are we trusting in church membership and religious activity, or in Christ alone?

The message also exhorts believers to live lives that honour Christ before the world, because hypocrisy causes the name of God to be blasphemed among unbelievers.

True salvation is not a matter of outward performance.
True salvation is the work of God in the heart that produces faith, repentance, and a life increasingly conformed to Christ.

Watch the full sermon and examine yourself in light of Godโ€™s Word.

Message starts at the 21:06 mark.
