If God called you home today, would you be ready to leave everything behind?

Not just your possessions.
Not just your house, your career, your plans, and your comforts.

But your ambitions.
Your reputation.
Your relationships.
Your dreams for tomorrow.
Everything you have built in this life.

Have you become so attached to this world that the thought of leaving it terrifies you?

Or have you learned to hold the things of this life with an open hand because your heart is already set on something far greater?

Paul said:

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
— Philippians 1:21

The Christian does not despise this life, but neither does he make this life his treasure.

Our citizenship is in heaven.
Our hope is not here.
Our treasure is not here.
Our home is not here.

Jesus said:

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in or steal, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…”
— Matthew 6:19–20

So ask yourself honestly:

If Christ called you to leave everything behind today, would you be ready?

Not because you have nothing worth living for,
but because Christ is worth more than everything you would leave behind.

“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”

How do you know if your gratitude is genuine or just temporary sentimentality?

In this special message titled "Thanksgiving Rooted in the Gospel," our guest speaker Pastor Matthew Crethar from Emmanuel Baptist Church walks us through Philippians 1:1–11 to reveal how true Christian thankfulness is far more than wishful thinking.

It is deeply anchored in what Christ has done, is doing, and will complete in the lives of His people.

Through Paul’s letter to the Philippian church, Pastor Matt highlights three key aspects of gospel-centered gratitude:

The Posture of Thanksgiving (Verses 3–5): True gratitude springs from remembering and praying for fellow believers, rejoicing in our shared partnership in the gospel.

The Grounds of Thanksgiving (Verses 6–8): Our confidence rests on the unshakeable promise that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

The Fruit of Thanksgiving (Verses 9–11): Genuine thankfulness overflows into prayer for abounding love, spiritual discernment, and fruits of righteousness that bring glory and praise to God.

Whether you are walking through trial or triumph, be encouraged that your salvation does not depend on your own strength—God finishes what He starts.
