Let us be honest with ourselves.
Are you going through a spiritual famine and not even know it?
How abundant is the Word of God in your daily life?
Is it consumed as daily bread, or only heard once a week on Sundays?
How abundant is God's Word in your home life? Is it regularly read and devoured in family devotion, or is it largely absent from the rhythm of the household?
Do churches faithfully equip their members to study the Scriptures for themselves, or has Bible intake slowly become something left to the pastor alone?
And in the home, who carries this responsibility? Do fathers lead their families in the Word of God? Do mothers nurture their children with Scripture, prayer, and truth?
Amos 8:11-14 warns of a judgment more severe than physical famine. God declares a coming famine, not of bread or water, but of hearing His Word. A time when people will search desperately for truth, yet not find it.
This is not merely about external access to Scripture. It is about a people who have heard but not treasured, who have been given truth but have grown cold toward it.
The question is not whether God speaks. The question is whether we are still hungry to hear Him.
