Global Week of 24-7 Prayer: Day Six

Empowered for Mission

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Acts 1:8

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

Our final theme for the Global week of 24-7 prayer is Empowered for Mission.

As a church Vision supports a number of mission works, locally and overseas, with finances and human resources.

- Iris Global, Zimpeto Mozambique
- First Steps Pregnancy Support, Queanbeyan and Canberra Region.
- Vision Church Community Meals night and freezer meals.

Take time to pray for each of these missions works: For God to be made known, and glorified; for the poor, the needy and marginalised to know the comfort and presence of the Lord, and for lives to be changed and transformed by the power of the gospel.

Consider how is the Lord calling you to be His witness in your community, work place, family, school.

Ask for courage to share you faith with others.

Our City and Region

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

Global Week of 24-7 Prayer: Day Four

The Body of Christ

And Jesus said: “all authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

Today’s focus is to pray for the body of Christ, His Church:

- Our own Church community at Vision
- Local Churches and ministries in the Canberra Region
- The Church in Australia
- The global Church
- The Persecuted Church

Pray for a fresh call to humility and repentance, for the reflection of Jesus to be seen in us and the way we love one another, for unity, for fresh fire, and renewed vision and purpose.

Global Week of 24-7 Prayer: Day Three

A Call to Persistence

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7

Today’s focus is about persistently praying for something again and again until God moves and change happens. There is a call for us to pray and not lose heart!

Pray for something in your own life that you have been asking God to change for a long time:
- The salvation of family members
- For prodigals to return
- Healing in your body and emotions
- Restoration in relationships

Pray into challenges facing our community, that may include:
- Those struggling with food poverty
- The mentally or physically ill
- Those dealing with addiction
- The homeless community
