Lanyon Valley Anglican Church

Lanyon Valley Anglican Church We exist to know Jesus Christ and make him known in the Lanyon Valley.

We gather every Sunday: 10am at the Gordon Primary school hall and 4:30pm in the Gordon Community Centre where in partnership with anglicare we also operate a food pantry. Our goal is to make disciples of Jesus (people who will trust and obey Him in every area of their lives). We do this in many ways, but the easiest way to connect with us is through our Sunday meetings (10am & 4:30pm, Gordon School hall) or at the Gordon Community Centre.

What do you think it's like to live on a small island on the west coast of Indonesia?🤔

This week at church we'll get to hear from some of the team that went there on a visit with Compassion Australia. What questions do you have for them?

We'll also continue our series in prayer 🙏 Don't forget to bring your booklets! (Or pick up a new one on Sunday 😊)

What does 'persistent prayer' mean to you?

At our Sunday services this week, we'll be thinking about that very question as we enter week 2 of our series on prayer.

Come along, and think about what it means when God's answer is 'Not yet' 🙏

What's been your experience as a parent and how has the bible shaped it? 🧐📖

Christianity applied are putting on a night to consider the topic, so that past, and future parents can apply the bible to their lives.

(You might recognise Paul Owens who spoke at our Church weekend away earlier in the year!)

You can sign up below:

Join us for a chance to think critically, in light of God's word as Paul and Jen Owens talk on what the Bible says about Parenting.

The first two verses of Psalm 81 say:
"Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! Begin the music, strike the timbrel, play the melodious harp and lyre."

We don't have timbrels...or harps...or lyres...

But we will be singing for joy to God who gives us strength!

Come and join us this Sunday! Find all the details at:

Love a good burger!

Enjoy one at Grilled in Woden to raise awareness, and help raise funds for the work at the Gordon Community Centre.

🍔 One Burger. One Vote. One Stronger Community.
We're excited to be part of Grill'd Local Matters this August!
Every burger purchased at Grill'd Woden earns you a voting token.
Here's how you can help:
✅ Buy a burger (in restaurant or online)
✅ Collect your Local Matters token
✅ Place it in the Gordon Community Centre jar
The community group with the most votes receives $300 to support local people doing it tough.
If you're grabbing lunch or dinner this month, please choose Grill'd and help support your local community.
1 Burger = 1 Vote = A Better Community
Please share this post and encourage your family and friends to get involved.
