🌙 Join us for our International Women’s Day Iftar! 🌙

This International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, we come together in faith and solidarity to for gender equality. Islam upholds the dignity and rights of women, yet at the current rate, full gender parity won’t be reached until 2158. That's five generations from now. Now is the time to act.

Join us for an evening of reflection, sisterhood, and empowerment as we break our fast and discuss how we can drive meaningful change in our communities. Together, through faith and action, we can accelerate progress and build a future where justice and equality are a reality for all.

“Empowering women has always been at the heart of our faith. In the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, we believe that women were granted complete freedom from the very beginning, with principles that emphasize modesty and dignity.

We strive to uphold the high status of women in society, recognizing their vital contributions in all spheres of life. Through education, leadership, and active participation, women in our community inspire others and play a crucial role in fostering harmony and progress.

Let’s celebrate the strength, resilience, and invaluable role of women who embody the true spirit of Islam, proving that faith and empowerment go hand in hand. Together, we can continue to advocate for equality and respect for all.

🕊️ Quote of the day 🕊️

In the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, this teaching is not just a belief, but a reality. Islam recognizes the inherent value and dignity of women, granting them equal rights in society. Whether in education, politics, or family life, women are empowered to play significant roles. The Ahmadiyya Community continues to champion these principles, promoting education, leadership, and independence for women around the world. True empowerment lies in equality, respect, and opportunity, which are fundamental Islamic teachings.

🕊️ Quote of the day 🕊️
The Ahmadiyya women’s Auxiliary was founded in 1992, by His Holiness Hazurat Mirza Bashir-ud-din Mahmood Ahmed (May Allah be pleased with him) the second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya association. It is evident that women in islam hold a high status and are seen as a jewel and a blessing to society. To fulfill this prestigious role, the women’s Auxiliary ‘Lajna Imaillah’ was formed to give women a platform to come together in unity, engage in conversations, and create opportunities for advancement in education, health and overall wellness of women world wide.

🎙️ Introducing: Chiou See Andersen 🎙️

We are honoured to introduce our second keynote speaker, Chiou See Andersen, President of the National Council for Women Australia.

Chiou See cut her teeth in her early twenties managing a diverse range of businesses including a motor dealership, a coal mining firm and a top 5 Qld legal practice before helping the Qld government establish the first construction skills centre in 1994. At the age of 30, she was managing a flying school with a fleet of 20 aircraft at Archerfield. In 2003, applying her learnings from her MBA, she purchased a block of land to tap into the projected growth of the ageing population. It took a total of 15 years to design and build her dream retirement community in the Daisy State Hill Forest at Springwood. In 2022, Chiou See added another Brisbane retirement village to her portfolio.

As an NCW member and advocate, Chiou See believes strongly that education is paramount to success, and she would also like to see working parents supported through equitable tax policies with men encouraged to play a more active role in parenting in order to stem the loss of female talent in the workplace.
In May 2022, Chiou See was elected Assistant Treasurer and Chair of the Public Relations Committee of the International Council of Women. She is the first and only member of the National Council of Women to hold simultaneous offices at State, National and International levels.

In September 2022, she was one of 13 eminent women from around Australia to be appointed by the Prime Minister Cabinet to the Women Economic Equality Taskforce. This taskforce was established to provide independent advice to the Australian Government to support the advancement of women’s economic equality and achieve gender equality as committed to in the Women’s Budget Statement October 2022.

Her vision for empowering women and supporting families will bring a powerful perspective to our symposium.
