| 1 Dhul Hijjah 1447

The month of Dhul Hijjah commences *Today, Monday 18th May 2026.

A reminder to those intending to offer a sacrifice (Qurbani/Udhiyah): To refrain from removing anything from the hair, nails, or skin in these first 10 days until the sacrifice has been offered.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari: 969

The Prophet ﷺ also said:

“Fasting the Day of ‘Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.”
— Sahih Muslim: 1162

“There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah. He draws near and then He praises them to the angels, saying, ‘What do these people want?’”
- Sahih Muslim: 1348

These blessed days are a great opportunity to increase in worship and righteous deeds, including (but not limited to):

• Attending the obligatory prayers in congregation at the Masjid
• Increasing in voluntary prayers and remembrance of Allah
• Reading and reflecting upon the Qur’an
• Giving charity generously
• Seeking forgiveness sincerely
• Voluntary fasting, especially on the Day of ‘Arafah (9th Dhul Hijjah — Tuesday, 26th May)
• Increasing in Takbeer & Tasbeeh:

Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illAllah, SubhanAllah

• Reciting the Takbeer of Tashreeq after every obligatory prayer, beginning from Fajr on the Day of ‘Arafah until ‘Asr on the final day of Tashreeq:

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illAllah, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil hamd.
