The Assembly of Rabbis and Cantors (ARC) of Australia, New Zealand and Asia has prepared a series of reflections for each of the 29 days in the month of Elul, the month preceding the High Holy Days, as a period of self-examination and spiritual deepening. It is our hope that these reflections, which began on Rosh Elul on 21 August, will encourage meaningful preparation for the High Holy Days. We are so lucky to have Netzer Shaliach Lior in Canberra! Have you met him yet? A wonderful article on the success of the very first virtual Netzer Winter Camp!

Yesterday was a historic day for our congregation with the inaugural Shabbat service in our very own Progressive prayer space! The service was so beautifully led by Rabbi Gary Robuck and attended by over 50 people from Canberra and beyond (in person with social distancing, and over Zoom). The mezuzah was attached, the space was blessed, and memories, stories, songs and laughter were shared. Thank you to each and every one of you, past and present who have advocated, fundraised, donated, and helped over the last 50 years to make this happen. May all who enter feel welcomed, supported, comforted and at peace in our very own Progressive home ♥️
(PS - no chairs were stacked or unstacked, and shall never be again,in the making of this space 😉)
