Lakeside Christian Church Evangelical Bible teaching church seeking to grow people as joyful followers of Jesus. Lakeside Church is a non-denominational evangelical and reformed church.

We have people from many nationalities living in Griffith, Manuka, Kingston, Red Hill, Narrabundah, Canberra and Queanbeyan. Committed to teaching and living out the Bible and the message of the Gospel of grace.We meet at 9:30 am. each Sunday at Forrest Primary School in the ACT.

All Saturday many rocky tombs around Jerusalem lay opened revealing dead bodies which will lay undisturbed over the Sabbath. The tombs were opened by a great earthquake when Jesus died on the cross. Tomorrow, following Jesus' resurrection the dead bodies of many saints will be raised to life and enter Jerusalem and be seen by many people. But all Saturday the darkened tombs lie open.
As we think of Jesus' body laying motionless, we cast a glance at other tombs nearby now laying silently open filled with other motionless bodies … and we wonder …

Saturday is often forgotten between Friday and Sunday. Today the Light is entombed in darkness. Jesus' body lies motionless ... the wonder of it! The women keep the Sabbath ... it is the last shadow-Sabbath ... with the setting of the sun a new day is about to dawn. In that tomb all is dead and silent but a new creation will burst forth that today's empty darkness will not be able to contain.
Klass Schilder wrote: Never had Christ been so concealed as now, never had divinity receded so far as now, never had He become so completely unknown – The discrepancy between the majesty of God and the body of the man Jesus was never as great as now.
