Children at Wesley

Children at Wesley The Children @ Wesley pages supports the work of the chapel program, TEA & PLAY and other programs of the Wesley Uniting Church, Forrest.

Wesley Programs are designed to be places where children are welcomed, feel supported and safe; adults are friendly and approachable; positive behaviours are modelled; and there's a whole-of-community approach to the nurturing of faith and wellbeing.

Trinity Sunday
Our young worshippers learned about our Triune God and then were filled with the Spirit and made a "dazzling" new window for their chapel space.
We spoke about God as the Dance - the steps, costumes and music, Jesus as the Dancer - the choreographer and lead dancer who shows us how to dance and Spirit as Dancing - the desire to join in and dance too.

This week the children learned about the story The Road to Emmaus. We passed a loaf of bread around the circle praying over it, then broke and ate it like Jesus did in the story. While sharing our meal we reflected on tough things we've done recently, such as giving a speech at school on pyjama day, and realised that Jesus was walking beside us during these hardships to help us, even if we didn't know it at the time.
