An event at St Philip's 18th May.

We have been preparing a delightful programme of night-themed music, loosely based on the ancient monastic office of Compline, and would be delighted to share it with you in the following concerts:

- St Philip's Anglican Church, O'Connor, on Saturday 18 May, 5pm

- St Paul's Anglican Church, Manuka, on Sunday 26 May, 5pm

Each concert will run for approximately 45 minutes (no interval), and includes works by Byrd, Tallis, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Rheinberger, Stanford, Beach, Wood, Harris and Daley.

No bookings necessary - exit by donation.

ABM AID’s Dr Julianne Stewart is currently traveling In Luapula Diocese of the Anglican Church in Zambia.

Yesterday she and the team from Zambia Anglican Council Outreach Programme (ZACOP) heard from Miriam, a survivor of gender-based violence who was able to turn her life around when she volunteered to be trained as a Gender Action Group promoter. While teaching local families in her village about GBV, she got the courage to confront the violence she herself was experiencing at home due to her husband’s alcoholism. With counselling and support provided through ZACOP’s Gender Equality project, he is now recovered and no longer violent. It helps to explain the happy look on Miriam’s face.

A fabulous visio divina to share with you today courtesy of Yahoo News. This image was taken by photographer, Wayne Suffield earlier this week at Lake Buninjon, northwest of Melbourne. It shows kangaroos appearing to defy gravity as they hop across the lake.

Truly a shot of a lifetime and a fitting one to contemplate in wonder and praise during Eastertide!
