We've teamed up with the Gungahlin Salvation Army Church to offer free lunches to anyone in our community who needs a good meal and great company, every Thursday from next week (11 June).

Come as you are, everybody is welcome!

Men Summit NEW DATE 5th Sept

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately we have had to postpone and pushback our Southern NSW/ACT Men’s Summit. It has now been moved to Saturday 5th of September at Gunghalin Salvos. If you have already signed up and paid via CC or even pay via corp and want to attend in September then great you don’t need to do anything. Other than put it in your diary!!

For over thirty years, Canberra man Alan Jessop collected donations for the Salvation Army. He died on Friday 15 May 2026 aged 95 years.

RIP Canberra icon Alan Jessop. ‘Her Canberra’ is reporting this afternoon that he died on 15 May.

You might recognise his face?

That’s because for over three decades he collected donations for the Salvation Army.

He was often at the entrance to the Canberra Centre.

Never pushy, always thankful. A true gentleman.

Incredibly in this time he raised over $4 million dollars for the Salvation Army.

A true hero.
