The final member of our speaking panel for the annual dinner is Anne Kirwan, who was invited to speak based on her extensive experience supporting women and children seeking culturally safe and secure housing following gender-based violence. Earlier this year, under Anne’s leadership, Marymead CatholicCare, in partnership with the Domestic Violence Crisis Service and the Yerrabi Yurwang Child & Family Aboriginal Corporation, received a significant ACT Government grant to expand vital resources and services for victims of family violence.

Another of our panel members for the annual dinner is Katrina Marson. She brings over ten years of experience as a sexual assault prosecutor, advocating for victims of gender-based and family violence. As a Churchill Fellow, she conducted international research into effective school-based healthy relationships programs, exploring solutions to these complex social issues. Katrina has also been a guest speaker at numerous faith-based schools—both Catholic and other denominations—and universities across Australia, sharing her insights on sexuality and healthy relationships.

As our annual dinner approaches, we are excited to introduce our panel of speakers for the topic of "Responding to Gender Based Violence in institutions like the Catholic Church" and share the reasons they were selected!

Dr Sheridan Kerr joins our panel as an experienced educator who has developed a comprehensive program on healthy relationships for Marist College Canberra. She brings a strong understanding of the Catholic perspective on sexuality and relationships, supported by her previous work with the Institute of Child Protection Studies at the Australian Catholic University.
