UNITING CHURCH
The Uniting Church in Australia was formed on June 22, 1977, as a union of three churches: the Congregational Union of Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia. In uniting, the members of those bodies testified to “that unity which is both Christ’s gift and will for the Church.”

CAMPERDOWN UNITING
Camperdown Uniting Church (formerly S

t. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church) worships and meets in a beautiful heritage listed building in Camperdown. It is part of the Corangamite Shared Mission (CSM) which includes Derrinallum Uniting Church.

God of many Talanoas (stories) and witness,

As we celebrate 49 years of the Uniting Church, we give thanks for the communities that have shaped us. For congregations gathered in bustling cities and regionals towns, for elders who carried faith before us, and for new voices continuing to breathe fresh life into Your Church.

You created us in your image, to love one another just as much as you love us.

At Pentecost, Your Spirit moved among many languages, many peoples, many ways of hearing and understanding; all were drawn together by the good news of Christ.

Teach us to see diversity not as a barrier, but as a gift. Where fear or difference divides, make us people who choose welcome. Where others feel unseen or excluded, teach us to widen the circle with grace.

We pray for the whole Uniting Church. For every community seeking to live out Your love across cultures, generations, and places. May we continue becoming a Church where each person is honoured, where every voice matters, and where belonging is shaped not by sameness, but by the grace of Christ.

God, we thank you that we are united in You, that our diverse nature is created in your image and may you empower us to be people called to welcome all.

We pray in the mighty name of Jesus,

Amen.

Thanks to those who contributed to The Christmas Bowl (Act for Peace) offering at Christmas.

We were able to forward $1,135 to this organisation.

“This work is ongoing. The needs are real. But so too is the courage of local leaders, the resilience of families and the faith that sustains them.”

Two TOMAR representatives visited on Friday, 17 April and met with Colin, Ray & Rita to chat about our recycling program and how Camperdown Uniting is using the funds. It was also mentioned about the great work that Pat and Robyn had done in the past!!

They were interested to hear about our fund-
raising strategies and said: “You really are doing
an amazing job!!”.

We are now collecting bottles/cans from the
Commercial Hotel each week: this is providing on average $30 per week to our mission funds.

If anyone would like to go on a roster to help with this process, please talk further with Colin.

Hundreds of children. Hundreds of shoeboxes. One unforgettable moment of joy. 🎁

For many, this is the first gift they’ve ever received—each box a powerful reminder that they are loved by God.

Last Sunday we said goodbye to Tim Gunner, who has been a valued part of our church and community since childhood. We send him off with our prayers, blessings, and full support as he begins this new chapter. Tim, we wish you every success in the journey ahead and look forward to hearing how God will work through you.

The Uniting Church in Australia stands in prayerful solidarity with our global ecumenical partners, the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) and the World Council of Churches, as they raise their voices in response to the violence and instability in the Middle East.

We echo their deep concern at the devastating impact of ongoing military strikes, particularly on civilians and civilian infrastructure. We join in denouncing attacks on civilian locations and call for the protection of civilians, respect for international humanitarian law, and immediate steps toward peace.

The Uniting Church also reiterates the urgent call for restraint, de-escalation, and an end to the cycle of violence, recognising the growing humanitarian crisis affecting communities, particularly in Iran and Lebanon.

We encourage you to read and reflect on these important statements:

May we continue to pray for peace, justice and the dignity of all people.
