Under the traditional calendar of Franciscan Saints and Blesseds we would be celebrating the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter.

This Catholic liturgical feast commemorating the spiritual authority, teaching mission, and primacy conferred by Jesus upon St. Peter and his successors. It honors the "Chair" (cathedra) as a symbol of the Pope's role as shepherd and center of unity for the Church.
