After more than 30 years of planning and saving, the parish community of St Clare’s, Narellan Vale, has marked the beginning of construction on its new church with a sod-turning ceremony led by Wollongong Bishop Brian Mascord.

Saturday 5.00pm
Sunday 8.00am, 10.00am and 5.00pm

Opportunity this evening, Wednesday during Holy Week, to seek God’s forgiveness. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is an occasion for mercy, grace and renewal. It really is excellent preparation for the sacred mysteries in our churches over the following days.

Four priests will be in attendance.

Please join us for this most Holy season, the Easter Triduum. Our Easter Saturday Vigil is a very special Mass which begins outdoors by the fire pit, where we light the new Easter Paschal Candle. Then the small votives which have been distributed to the congregation are lit from this same fire, and our parish choir process us into the church, with the candles lighting the darkness. The Mass proceeds with extra readings and extra psalms sung. Our priests are all looking forward to celebrating and hope you can come along also.

Today, we honour St. Patrick, who brought the light of Christ to Ireland with courage, humility, and unwavering faith.

Welcome to the parish Father Hung Tran! Father Hung comes to us from All Saints Catholic Parish Shellharbour City where he has been an assistant priest for the past two years. We happily welcome Father Hung and encourage you to introduce yourselves to him as he moves around the Parish carrying out the many duties that are required in a large Parish.

This weekend we farewell Father James as he is re-assigned to Nowra. Father James' Masses this weekend will be: Saturday 5.00 pm at Oakdale, then Sunday 8.00 am and 10.00 am in Camden.

Parishioners will still be able to offer best wishes to Father James when he returns in February for an informal gathering that is being planned, details of which will be in the Weekly Message over the next few weeks.

As you know, last Sunday Australia suffered its worst mass shooting in decades. Tomorrow night, as we mark one week since this awful attack, we invite you to a simple prayer vigil to pray and be together. This is not a Mass and you do not have to be Catholic or Christian to attend - all welcome.
