Cairns to the Cape is back! This Christmas, we’re partnering again with Churches of Christ to bless 58 foster and kinship care families in Cape communities with a hamper filled with gifts, practical goodies and love in Jesus’ name.

You can sign up and collect your empty hamper from the Info Desk on Sunday.

Every contribution helps us bless families at Christmas.

Do you enjoy digging deeper into the Bible to understand and apply it? We’re hosting another Study Season on Sunday nights.

While our Sunday morning series, Why We Do What We Do, explores some of the beliefs and practices that shape us as a church, Sunday nights will take a different approach. We’ll slow down over some of the strangest and toughest passages in the New Testament and learn how to read the Bible well when something seems confusing, uncomfortable or difficult to explain.

We’ll look at questions like: Did Jesus really tell us to hate our family? Why did Ananias and Sapphira die? Can someone lose their salvation? And what do we do with passages that nobody seems completely sure about?

We may not resolve every question, and that’s part of the point. We want to become more confident wrestling with difficult parts of the Bible together, listening to different interpretations and keeping Jesus at the centre.

This Study Season begins Sunday night.

Every church has practices and convictions that shape who they are.

In this series we'll explore some of the places where sincere Christians disagree, why The Lakes Church has landed where it has, and how we can hold strong convictions with genuine humility.

Whether you've been here for years or you're still figuring us out, you'll discover the biblical convictions and values behind why we do what we do.
