After much discussion, soul searching and praying our mainly music team reluctantly advises that we will close the Cairns South group. Unfortunately circumstances have changed for many of our helpers over the last couple of years. Those changes, and the ongoing Covid risk and regulations, led us to the difficult decision to close the programme.

We are all sad and won’t forget the parents and children who came through our door and whom we got to know so well. We thank all who supported us over the years and wish you God’s blessings.

If you, or any of your friends, are interested in joining a mainly music group, there are still some operating in the local area. You can find details of the Monday Presbyterian group, and the Thursday Good Shepherd Anglican

Here’s an important message for all parents to consider.

Greetings to all our mainly music families from past years, and to others looking into our page. Our mainly music Cairns South group will continue to be On Hold until the public health situation improves. The circumstances of many of our volunteers have changed over the past several months, and so we will use this Time Out to build our team of helpers.

Our page will continue, and we hope to post things of interest from time to time. When we are able to resume sessions, we will let you know.

If you wish to join a different local mainly music group, you may locate one through the mainly music Australia site, using the Find a Group tab. Be aware that the groups may be full, in which case you could ask to go on their waiting list.

It has truly been a blessing for us to get to know you and your children through the sessions. Please know that you are special to us, and to God. May 2021 be a wonderful year for you.

Our end of year mainly music picnic is coming up next Tuesday 17th November from 9.30-11.30am.
We would love to see our mainly music families for this COVID-safe get together.
It’s wet play for the children, so they’ll need a change of clothes, sunscreen and hat.
Bring morning tea for yourself and your child, we will provide tea, coffee, water and Christmas cake!
In accordance with COVID-safe rules, if you or your family members are not well, please stay at home, for everyone’s safety.
We look forward to catching up with you all!

Regretfully, our mainly music Cairns South group will not be able to resume sessions in Term Four. Our group is on hold over the period of Covid-19 isolation and gathering restrictions, and until our team of volunteers are in a position to offer their time once again.

You will still be able to view our page. We’ll aim to keep in touch that way, or through periodic phone calls, if you are not on Facebook.

We look forward to a time that we can get together again - perhaps for a picnic towards the end of the school year. You and your families are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Our picnic is still on for tomorrow, starting at 10:30am. We have marquees (tents) up, so even if there is rain overnight or in the morning, we'll be fine.
Please remember to bring a blanket for you and your child to sit on. This will help with social distancing. Children may mingle and play with other children, but adults will keep in their own family 'bubble'. We also ask that you bring your own food & drink. See you there!

We plan to resume our weekly mainly music sessions on Tuesday morning, 6 October. A Covid-safe plan will be in place. We'll post more details soon. We are looking forward to seeing you. Meanwhile we'll soon start posting Jo Hood's continuing mainly music for you on-line.
