The Anglican community in Burra deeply mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Supreme Governor of the world wide Anglican Church and the Anglican Church of Australia.

Her devotion, and commitment to our faith has been a lifelong inspiration to Christians, and people of all denominations and faiths or none.

The Parish Priest, and members of St Mary’s Church welcome everybody who wishes to record tributes or condolences, upon the death of the late Queen, to visit our Church, where messages reflections and prayers may be recorded on a condolence register, which will be collated with those from all sections of society, for forward to Buckingham Palace.

The Church will remain open until 5.00pm daily during the period of 10 days of mourning for peaceful contemplation.
Candles will be provided for those wishing to mark a more lasting remembrance.

On Sunday evening, at 5.00pm, there will be a service of prayer and devotion led by the Parish Priest, The Rev’d Dr Jane Lee-Barker.

Donations to the mission of St. Mary’s (should anyone wish to do that) may be deposited in the box in the church.

The Rev’d Dr Jane Lee-Barker
Rector, The Anglican Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Burra, 5417.
