So lovely to be back in Oodnadatta today — a town known as one of the driest and hottest places in Australia! 😊

My patrol car was fully loaded with gifts, food packs and backpacks for children in Oodnadatta and people in Marree. Today, I was delighted to deliver food packs and backpacks for local schoolchildren, generously donated by the Regency Park Rotary Club, with the wonderful support of our volunteers, Mike and Jeanette Lennon.

Thanks for their generosity, kindness and care for the children and people in our remote communities. Every gift carries a message of love and reminds them that they are not forgotten.

The Outback is truly amazing!

Reflecting on today's worship service which focused on couples from the Bible...
When people marry, they don't often pay attention to part that faith plays in the choice to be married. We often think of marriage with respect to love alone. While love is an important part, marriage is fundamentally about faith. You begin by loving a person, and being in love with them, but when you marry you are placing your faith in that person; you believe that he or she will honour the vows made in the presence of God and the community. Love and faith go hand in hand.

In today's reading from Matthew, Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" Jesus asks us this question too.

Last Sunday we were fortunate to have Matt and Dodi Dutschke present a talk and slide show describing the great work being done by Bishop Michael Michael Musale. He and his wife Emily established the Victory Christian School in Turbo in Kenya, to nurture orphans and children form the poorest families while providing a Christian framework for their education. Children have been empowered and provided with the tools they need to go forward with their lives with confidence and hope. God bless Bishop Michael as well as volunteers like Matt and Dodi who work alongside him doing God's work in the world.
