Perspective
Gratitude allows us to remain faithful and thankful in times of difficulty and shaking.
I love these verses in Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV
"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. [19] Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert."
We can be thankful for what God has done in remembering his faithfulness yet not live anchored in the past. Here’s the thing, what worked in the previous seasons, the structures, the strategies even the wins – they’re not bad but they may have expired. If we’re not careful, we’ll end up clutching yesterday’s tools while God is asking us to step into tomorrow’s territory.
It’s not because they weren’t fruitful, but their season is over. If you read Isaiah 43, the people of Israel weren’t in victory but in exile. In those types of situations, it can be tempting to create monuments of former things, good and bad.
The struggle, do we see the new thing? Do we perceive the new thing? Even if the now doesn’t look like the new thing. When the now is still meeting you at the water cooler (figuratively speaking) and we haven’t yet seen the new thing with our eyes in the natural.
God is shifting our perspective so we can recognise the new thing, what is forming now carries His breath, His timing, and His purpose – breaking through places that once felt dry or even dead.
This is a moment to see differently when heaven realigns our sight.
Thankful for eyes awakened to what God is releasing.
