A huge thank you for our gifted musicians and hard working volunteers in our parish. As part of our 150 year celebrations we were gifted with a beautiful music concert on Saturday. We had musicians from St Luke's College, our seven o’clock choir, our nine thirty ensemble and our gifted musician Claire who now looks after the Bargara service music. This with various soloists made for a wonderful time. Deep gratitude for Sue Davis for organising all these various musicians and of course Barry for the musical backbone on organ and piano. Another deep thanks goes to all those that worked tirelessly preparing the scrumptious afternoon tea and most important all of you for supporting it.

A massive weekend in the Parish as we celebrated 150 years of the first Anglican Church in Bundaberg. We celebrated yesterday with all our parish churches and our brothers and sisters from Good Shepherd joining us as this history is a shared history for both parishes. We had a very traditional matins service, presided by Archbishop Jeremy Greaves where he preached on how “ it is easy to become guardians of memory: much harder to become stewards of possibility;” a wonderful message for us all. I’ll comment on some of the photos in the post. Also we had a wonderful concert on Saturday where I’ll do a stand alone post.

With thanks Archbishop, it was wonderful to have you with us for our celebration and your inspiring message.

The parish of Bundaberg started our celebrations of our 150th birthday with a beautiful choral evensong at Christ Church. Our thanks to the choir for their beautiful music, the readers for their fine oratory skills, visiting Clergy Rev. Eleanor from St. John’s Anglican Church Hervey Bay for making the journey and Mother Kate for a wonderful sermon reflecting on Bishops Hales original message on 4th June 1876. The party continues on Saturday at 2pm for our free concert and scones.
