Heavenly Father,

You have placed us in this city for such a time as this. As your people, help us to seek the welfare of Brisbane and to faithfully pray on its behalf.

Lord, bless our city with Your peace, wisdom, justice, and hope. Strengthen those who lead, guide those who serve, and protect those who are vulnerable. Let righteousness, compassion, and truth flourish throughout our communities.

Help us to love our neighbours well, to serve selflessly, and to be a faithful witness to Jesus wherever You have placed us. Open our eyes to the needs around us and give us courage to respond with kindness, generosity, and grace.

We pray for our schools, churches, families, businesses, community groups, and local leaders. Bring healing where there is brokenness, unity where there is division, provision where there is need, and hope where there is despair.

May New Heart Baptist Church be a blessing to Brisbane. Use us to shine Your light, share Your love, and proclaim the good news of Jesus. Let many come to know You, and may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our city as it is in heaven.

Prayer for Prodigals Returning Home

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hope and confidence in Your promises. You are the God who gathers, restores, and brings home those who seem far away.

Lord, You see every son and daughter who has wandered. You know where they are—whether they are far from You physically, spiritually, emotionally, or relationally. Nothing is hidden from Your sight, and no distance is too great for Your love to reach.

According to Your Word, bring Your sons from afar and Your daughters from the ends of the earth. Gather those who have drifted, those who are searching, those who are hurting, and those who have lost their way. Let them hear Your voice calling them home.

Father, break every chain that keeps them captive. Remove deception, bitterness, pride, fear, addiction, unbelief, and every influence that draws them away from You. Open their eyes to see Your goodness and awaken their hearts to remember Your love.

We declare Your promise that there is hope for their future. We ask that those who have wandered from faith would return to Christ, return to Your people, and return to the purpose for which You created them. Let what seems impossible become a testimony of Your grace.

Give us patient hearts as we wait and pray. Help us to love without giving up, to believe without losing hope, and to welcome with open arms those You are drawing back to Yourself.

Lord Jesus, seek and save those who are lost. Let prodigal sons and daughters arise and come home. May our church become a place of restoration, reconciliation, healing, and joyful reunion as we witness Your promises fulfilled before our eyes.

We trust You, the Good Shepherd, to bring home every sheep You are calling. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus.

Heavenly Father,

Today we join with the prayer of Jesus and lift up Your people before You. Thank You that we belong to You, chosen, loved, and given to Christ. We pray for every disciple, every family, every ministry, and every person You have entrusted to Your Church.

Lord, keep us in this world without becoming of this world. Protect us from the schemes of the evil one. Guard our hearts, minds, and lives, and surround us with Your presence and peace.

Sanctify us by Your truth. Let Your Word shape our thoughts, transform our character, and direct our steps. Give us a deep hunger for Scripture and a greater desire to know and obey You.

As Jesus was sent into the world, send us also. Fill us with courage to be His witnesses in our homes, workplaces, schools, communities, and among the nations. Let our lives reflect the love, grace, and truth of Christ wherever You place us.

Father, make us one. Remove division, pride, offence, and misunderstanding. Unite us in purpose, love, and mission. May we be perfectly one, just as the Father and the Son are one, so that the world may see Jesus through us.

Let the world know that You sent Your Son and that You love Your people with the same great love that You have for Him. May Your love be evident in our words, our actions, our relationships, and our service.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are still praying for Your Church. We entrust ourselves to You afresh and ask that Your purposes be accomplished in us and through us.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging that apart from You we can do nothing. Thank You for Your promise that we would be baptised with the Holy Spirit and clothed with power from on high. Lord, pour out Your Spirit afresh upon us. Fill us with Your presence, Your power, and Your love, that we may be faithful witnesses for Jesus in our families, our communities, our city, our nation, and to the ends of the earth.

Father, we hear Your call to enlarge the place of our tent. Stretch our vision beyond what we can presently see. Lengthen our cords and strengthen our stakes. Remove every fear, limitation, and hesitation that would hold us back from all that You desire to do through us. Prepare us for growth, for harvest, and for the people You are drawing to Yourself. May we spread abroad to the right and to the left, seeing lives transformed and communities impacted by the good news of Jesus Christ.

And now, Lord, grant to Your servants great boldness. Let us proclaim Your Word with courage, conviction, and compassion. Keep us from shrinking back in the face of opposition or uncertainty. As we step out in faith, stretch out Your hand to heal. Confirm Your Word through signs, wonders, miracles, and testimonies that bring glory to the name of Jesus.

Raise up disciples who walk in the authority and commission You have given them. Empower us to make disciples, baptise believers, and teach others to obey everything that Christ has commanded. May our lives model wholehearted obedience, faith, humility, and love, so that others may follow Jesus through our example.

Lord, keep us faithful for all our days. Whether You grant us many years of service or return soon in glory, may we be found steadfast in Your mission, full of Your Spirit, devoted to prayer, committed to making disciples, and bold in proclaiming the gospel.

For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever.

Prayer for Disciple-Making

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the authority and commission that Jesus has entrusted to His followers. We pray that Your church would walk confidently in the authority You have given us—not in our own strength, but in the power of the Holy Spirit and under the lordship of Christ.

Lord, raise up disciples who make disciples. Give us hearts that are intentional in sharing the gospel, investing in others, and leading people to faith in Jesus. May many come to know You and publicly declare their faith through baptism as they begin a lifelong journey of following Christ.

Help us not only to know Your commands but to obey them. Shape us into people who reflect the character of Jesus in our words, actions, relationships, and service. May our lives be living examples that encourage others to follow You wholeheartedly.

Grant us perseverance and faithfulness for the days ahead. Keep us steadfast in Your mission whether our days are many or few. May we continue to make disciples, teach Your truth, and serve Your kingdom until the day You call us home or until Jesus returns in glory.

May New Heart Baptist Church be a community of disciples who love You deeply, follow You faithfully, and help others do the same.

A Week of Prayer & Fasting

As we begin this Week of Prayer and Fasting, we are responding to God's invitation to draw near to Him, seek His heart, and align ourselves afresh with His purposes.

Throughout this week, we will journey together through themes that reflect the heart of God for His Church and His world. We will begin with repentance and intercession, recognising our need for God's grace and surrendering ourselves afresh to Him. We will pray for labourers and disciple-makers, asking God to raise up men and women who will faithfully carry the gospel into our community, our nation and the nations.

We will seek the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, praying for boldness, courage and faith to be Christ's witnesses wherever He has placed us. We will ask God to deepen our love for Him and for one another, believing that a church rooted in love and marked by unity becomes a powerful testimony to the world.

Together we will pray for Christlike character to be formed in us, for prodigal sons and daughters to return home to the Father, and for our city to experience the peace, favour and transforming presence of God.

Prayer and fasting are not about earning God's favour or striving for spiritual achievement. Rather, they are a deliberate choice to make space for God—to quiet distractions, listen to His voice, and allow Him to shape our hearts. As we say no to some things for a season, we are saying yes to deeper intimacy with Him.

May this week be a time of fresh surrender, renewed faith, and expectant prayer. Let us come believing that God still saves, restores, heals, empowers and sends His people. May He strengthen His Church, raise up disciples, and use us for His glory in our community, our country and the nations.

Come with an expectant heart. The Lord is at work among us.
