We start a study of the Gospel of Luke this coming Sunday in the Lamb and Flag. Luke - traditionally identified as a gentile physician and companion of St Paul - famously gives attention to the most marginalised in society, and gives voice to Christ's many female disciples and witnesses- Elizabeth, Anna, Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna, Mary and Martha. Please read the first two chapters of Luke and bring your Bible to Bible & B**r 🍺 🙏

Bible and B**r - 20th Sep 6 pm at the Lamb & Flag Cafe

What do St. Ignatius, St. Augustine, and Julian of Norwich, have in common? Each engaged in Spiritual Direction, or Spiritual Companioning, which fosters spiritual growth and the discernment of God’s guidance in their life. Key elements of this relationship include:
· Presence: Creating a safe space for dialogue.
· Guidance and Support: Providing non-directive assistance for spiritual connection.
· Non-Judgmental: Allowing exploration of beliefs freely.
· Spiritual Growth: Helping seekers discern the Spirit's movement in daily life.
Originally rooted in the Catholic tradition, Spiritual Direction has expanded to various other Christian denominations; even to non-Christian faiths. Nicola Reynolds from the 10 am congregation is studying Spiritual Companioning at the University of Divinity. With 30 years in corporate roles, her new path is a significant change.
This Sunday at Bible and B**r, she will discuss the history, benefits, and challenges of Spiritual Direction, as she considers becoming a Spiritual Companion. A fascinating theme!

A deeply moving Evensong, Mass and inspiring preaching by Bishop David Farrer, marking this wonderful milestone in the life of the church.
