Matthew 23:1-4
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.
3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.”

The main lesson here is that we should not just teach God's Word - live it.

Don't place burdens on others that you are unwilling to help carry.

True spiritual leadership should be shown through humility, love, and example.

Colossians 1:24-27 (NIV)

24 - Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regards to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
25 - I have become its servant by the Commission God gave me to present to you the Word of God in its fullness -
26 - the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations but is now disclosed to the Lord's people .
27 - To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Paul says that he willingly endured suffering and was happy to go through it because he was helping others know about Jesus. God’s plan, which was once hidden, is now revealed: Jesus lives in us, and He gives us the hope of eternal life and glory with God.

Matthew 22:16-22

The Pharisees planned to trap Jesus with his words when they asked, "Should we pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

If Jesus said yes, many Jews would be angry because they hated paying taxes to the Roman rulers.

If he said no, the Romans could arrest him for encouraging people to break the law.

Jesus then asked to see a Roman coin and asked them, "Who's image and name is on the coin?"

When they answered "Caesar", Jesus replied,
"Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. And give to God what belongs to God."

Jesus teaches us that we have responsibilities to both earthly governments and to God. We should obey lawful authorities, but our greatest loyalty and devotion always belong to God.

Matthew 22:1-14

This parable is about a king who invited people to a wedding feast for his son, but many made excuses and did not come. Jesus teaches that God invites everyone to be saved, but we must choose to accept His invitation and follow Him.

Will you accept His invitation to salvation?
