Acceptance comes before transformation:
God’s grace does not wait for us to become worthy; He accepts us in Christ, and that grace then begins the work of transforming us.

Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

God gives us a new heart that desires to wholly follow Christ, and heeds the discipline and correction of the Father through His Word and the Holy Spirit.
