✨ When People Say “I’ve Been Hurt by the Church” ✨

So often we hear people say they’ve been “hurt by the church.” But what do they really mean? Was it the whole church turning against them—or perhaps one leader, a group of leaders, or even just a few individuals?

The truth is: the Church of Jesus Christ itself cannot hurt anyone, but people can, and religion can. Sometimes the pain comes because others didn’t agree with us, or because we didn’t agree with how things were done.

Here’s the reminder: a religious institution isn’t perfect, but God is. And with Him, we can work together to build our gatherings into places of peace, healing, and freedom in worship.

If someone offended you, don’t blame God for their shortcomings. Instead, let it be an opportunity to grow, forgive, and walk in grace.

📖 “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” — Colossians 3:13

📖 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” — Ephesians 4:2

📖 “See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” — Hebrews 12:15

Let’s not let offense pull us away from God’s people, but instead work together to reflect His love. ❤️

After last week's powerful teaching on the 7 seals described in the book of revelation, today we will unpack chapter 7 and 8.

Revelation 7 is fascinating. It introduces the idea of the 144,000 sealed from the twelve tribes of Israel, symbolizing a group of believers protected by God in times of tribulation. Then, it shifts to a vision of a great multitude from every nation, tribe, and language, standing before God's throne. It highlights themes of divine protection, salvation, and the inclusivity of God's kingdom.

In Chapter 8, the focus shifts dramatically with the opening of the seventh seal. This unleashes a series of catastrophic events symbolized by the blowing of seven trumpets. Each trumpet signals a different calamity, emphasizing God's judgment and the urgency of repentance.

Both chapters underscore the dual themes of God's mercy and judgment.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Today, we are going to explore the **seven seals** in the Book of Revelation. These are a series of symbolic events described in chapters 5 to 8. These seals are part of a scroll that only the Lamb (Jesus Christ) is worthy to open. Each seal, when broken, reveals a specific vision or occurrence that signifies different aspects of divine judgment and the end times.

Here's a brief overview of the seven seals:

1. First Seal: A white horse, symbolizing conquest.
2. Second Seal: A red horse, representing war.
3. Third Seal: A black horse, indicating famine.
4. Fourth Seal: A pale horse, symbolizing death.
5. Fifth Seal: The souls of martyrs crying out for justice.
6. Sixth Seal: Cosmic disturbances, such as earthquakes and the darkening of the sun.
7. Seventh Seal: Silence in heaven followed by the seven trumpets, which bring further judgments.

Understanding the seven seals is important because they represent the unfolding of God's plan for the end times, highlighting themes of judgment, redemption, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil. For many believers, studying these seals provides insight into the nature of divine justice and the hope of salvation.

THE COMMANDMENT OF FORGIVENESS

Is forgiving others a requirement to receive God's Forgiveness?

Ephesians 4:31-32: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Colossians 3:12-13: “As the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” This passage also emphasizes the qualities of “compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience.”

Stay blessed!
