Jesus says He is the "gate" or "door" of the sheep... what does that mean?

Let's look to the Bible for clues! 🔎🔎🔎

🗝️ Matthew 7:14: "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life."
🗝️ John 10:9: "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved."
🗝️ John 14:6: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
🗝️ Acts 4:12: "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."
🗝️ Revelation 22:14: "Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates."

John has one urgent message for us: Jesus is the only way to eternal life.

What does it mean that Jesus is our shepherd?

The Bible helps us understand this beautiful image for God.

🐑 Psalm 23: David wrote, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul."
🐑 Jeremiah 23: God promised a coming Messiah to save His people, saying "I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid."
🐑 Ezekiel 34: God condemned the corrupt leaders of Israel, calling them bad shepherds, and proclaiming, "I myself will search for my sheep and look after them."
🐑 John 10:11: Jesus identified Himself as the "good shepherd" that was promised.

What a beautiful fulfillment of promises! Like a shepherd keeps his flock from danger and leads them to good pastures, so will God Himself protect and provide for us.
