Awaken seeks to awaken people in faith, life and relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Mission and Vision

The mission of our Awaken Ministry is to unite people with Our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the source and centre of our lives. In the encounter with Jesus, our hope is that Jesus will awaken people’s faith and love of Him, so that they will be compelled to go out and share the Good News with others! Awaken is a prayer group that is made up of faithfuls who love the Lord, th

e Catholic Church, and those with a desire to renew Parish life and respond to the call of The New Evangelisation. Awaken Prayer Evenings are held throughout the year and dates will be posted on this site. The basic format of an Awaken experience is fivefold: Kerygmatic preaching (sharing the Word of God), Praise and worship, Meditation, Healing and Holy Eucharist.

We had a great day on Saturday with our mini retreat on Overcoming. The connections are growing, the teaching practical and achievable and the prayer at the end is breaking through many barriers. We've had great feedback and we look forward to posting some of the testimonies over the coming weeks.

We have an honoured guest speaker for this gathering, Lisa McKerr. Lisa's contribution to Brisbane Archdiocesan Services and also nationally on the Advisory Council of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference has been significant. Not only is she a gifted and profound speaker she is well known for "her steadfast faith, compassion, joy, generosity and friendship." We welcome Lisa and eagerly look forward to October when she will open up the scriptures to us all.
We have limited numbers so get in early and grab a seat.

‘It is Lovely to have women get together who are
genuine in the way they are listening,
helping and praying for each other.
I could feel the women are happy to express their stories as they feel people are willing to care.
It’s a heart thing, not that you look good
it’s the fact that you see the heart within this group
and it’s making the other person feel they matter

Coffee with Jesus is Awaken in Christ's Women's Ministry that is designed for small group connection and prayer.
Maree attended one of our monthly Saturday retreats and shares the wonderful breakthrough she had ...
“I wanted to share that I had a profound experience with the Trauma prayer. For the two weeks prior to Saturday, I had been experiencing a very heavy grief that I could not shake, despite constant prayer.
This has now completely left me replaced by a deep peace.
Additionally, for a couple of months, I had felt like my heart centre was depleted and that I had nothing left to give.
This weight has also lifted, and I now feel full and peaceful.
Praise God!"

'During the Awaken night at Fooan 3-dong Church my heart was aching deeply and I desperately needed God’s love in my heart.
Throughout the night I experienced healing
from childhood wounds to my heart
Hearing God’s words through the teaching deeply touched me
It was truly a grace-filled experience.
I went forward for prayer and experienced the
Holy Spirit like never before.

As a team we headed to Seoul at God’s calling
prepared and excited to serve.
What we weren’t prepared for was the amazing impact serving and experiencing God at this level did in our lives.
To see the miracles unfold as the holy fire swept
through the many many congregations we visited,
we are humbled to be carriers of His glory.
It is something we will never forget.
It has ignited us with a burning love
to share Him wherever He calls.
It was a privilege, an honour and a
life changing experience.
